Hello,
I have a Nissan Dayz Highway Star 2014/2017 model. Mileage on the meter around 88k. Bought recently about 1.5 years ago. The car from that time has been getting timely maintenance and everything. I'm not sure how the previous owner kept it, but it was not good. Moving on, I had an issue with my AC compressor tripping over and over again. After plugging in a scanner and going for a drive, we found out, that the engine temperature was hitting 114 C. Also, there was no indication on the meter of it getting hot. As there are only two options, to show cold light and to show hot light, both lights work, but the meter did not show the hot light. Before this, we had changed the AC Compressor, and got the radiator serviced too. After looking at the reading, we got the radiator changed, and then removed the thermostat wall too.
During this investigation, we also found out that the car would take a lot of load on the race pedal and would feel a bit grouchy in terms of it being smooth. Got the catalytic wash done as well to see if that was choking it, but it wasn't.
So now my mech says that the engine is taking load, which is why car keeps getting overheat and I need an engine replacement. I believe, that there might be some other issue which is getting overlooked, is there any other possibility that im missing here?
