You can watch/listen to this video if you don't want to read all this.
EVs are low maintenance vehicles. You can reduce visit to mechanics, which itself is hard to find an honest person.
To prove that, I am going to share maintenance data from owner's manual for one scooter Yadea E8S and two EVs Seres 3 and Ora 03.
Yadea E8S
As you can see from the maintenance schedule of this scooter, there's no major maintenance item. It's almost maintenance free scooter. The only obvious things you need to look for are tires, brakes, and battery after a couple of years.
Seres 3
From Page 01 of the maintenance schedule, you can find two items that need to be replaced after a set interval.
1) Brake Fluid after every 60,000 km or 42 months.
2) Reducer Oil after every 20,000 km or 18 months. The reducer in an EV is a single speed transmission. In case of Seres 3, it requires the regular manual transmission oil 75W-90 GL-4.
On Page 02, only Air Condition (cabin) filter is mentioned as a replacement item.
On the last page, only motor coolant require replacement after every 60,000 km or 42 months. There are some missing details here. Seres 3 have battery and heater coolant as well, which must be replaced in addition to motor coolant.
Ora 03
Page 01
1) Battery Coolant: 4 years or 48,000 miles
2) Heater Coolant: 4 years or 48,000 miles
3) e-Transaxel (gear) oil: 30,000 miles
4) Brake Fluid: 24 months or 18,000 miles
Page 02
1) Pollen Filters (This is AC Filter): 18,000 miles or 24 months
If I summarize maintenance of Seres 3 and Ora 03, the most important maintenance items in an EV
1) Reducer Oil
2) Coolant/Anti Freeze
Other than that, it's just brake fluid, and AC/cabin filter.
