What's New For 2025?

For 2025, the Porsche 911 cars' lineup has come across many significant updates. It has especially introduced new powertrain options. A new hybrid-T system has been introduced in the GTS model. The exterior has also been refreshed with redesigned bumpers, wheels, lights, mirrors, and enhanced aerodynamics. A new design theme has been introduced, including five vertical louvers around the lower air intake. They are adjustable to either enhance brake cooling or channel air toward the radiators.

The slight variations have been expected to include unique bumper designs, an active lower lip for better aerodynamics, and options for single or dual exhaust setups.

Regarding the interior, Porsche 911 now offers a fully digital instrument panel, a modern feature likely to provoke the opinions of traditionalists. The lightweight T model comprises a flat-six engine with a standard six-speed manual transmission.

Porche 911 Specifications

The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera keeps the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine. However, it has been upgraded with the intercooler and turbocharger from the previous GTS model, boosting the horsepower to 388hp, 9 more than the previous 2024 Carrera model. This helps the car reach 60 mph a tenth of a second faster, at 4.0 seconds.

The significant updates for the new T-Hybrid powertrain in the 911 GTS. It combines a 3.6-liter engine with a single electric turbocharger and an electric motor that adds up to 54 horsepower and 110 lb-ft of torque (149 Nm). The electric motor is built directly into the car's eight-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) transmission. The motor runs on a 400-volt system with power stored in a 1.1-kWh lithium-ion battery.

The 911 Carrera 4 models operate on an all-wheel drive system with the same 3.6L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine. However, they differ in terms of horsepower, torque, and top speed. The top speeds of Carrera 4 models, including 4 and 4S, are 291 km/h and 306 km/h, respectively. The Carrera 4S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds.

The 911 Targa 4 and 4s have the same 3.6L twin-turbo boxer engine that delivers 443 horsepower and a decent torque of 530 Nm. In addition, the 911 Carrera with Sport Chrono Package and Launch Control can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds. With Sport Chrono Package and Launch Control, the 911 Carrera 4S accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 306 km/h.

Customers can choose between its 7-speed manual transmission and 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).

Porsche states that the 2025 GTS T-Hybrid's 0-60 mph time has improved from 3.2 to 2.9 seconds, and its top speed has increased by 1 mph, reaching 194 mph (312 km/h).

Previously, we clocked the 992.1 GTS at 2.8 seconds for the 0-60 sprint, so we anticipate the new model may achieve it in around 2.5 seconds. Meanwhile, the Carrera's slight power increase brings its 0-60 time down to a reported 3.9 seconds, trimming a tenth of a second from the previous model's record. The 992.1 GTS, which is an earlier version of the 911 GTS, achieved a 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds.

The US testers expect the new 2025 GTS T-Hybrid to perform closer to 2.5 seconds in real-world testing. The 2025 Carrera model, with a mild power increase, also sees an improvement in its 0-60 mph time. It now achieves this sprint in 3.9 seconds, as claimed by the tester, a tenth of a second faster than the previous model.

Porsche 911 Interior

The 2025 911 coupe comes standard as a two-seater, though a 2+2 seating option is available at no extra cost. The center console now includes a cooled storage compartment for smartphones, complete with an inductive charging pad.

Furthermore, the familiar 911 car interior remains largely unchanged. It has maintained its classic layout. A notable update is the new start button, which is positioned traditionally to the left of the steering wheel, and the addition of the smartphone charging and cooling area within the center console. The Interior comprises sports seats (four-way, electric) and multifunction sports steering.

It comprises an analog rev counter that shows the engine revolution per minute (RPM). On either side of the central rev counter are two high-resolution, 7-inch digital screens. These screens provide additional information and are designed to complement the analog dial.

Infotainment

The updated Porsche 911 car introduces a new 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, which adds a modern touch to its interior. However, this might not appeal to all traditionalists. The cluster offers flexible display options, including the classic center tachometer with a five-gauge layout. It even allows the tachometer to be rotated so that 7000 rpm is at the top.

The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system has a 10.9-inch touchscreen with a new QR code prompt for easy login to your Porsche ID. Apple CarPlay is back and can now be shown on both the instrument cluster and infotainment screen.

Additionally, video streaming is available, and apps like Spotify and Apple Music can now be used directly in the PCM without needing a smartphone connection. New 911 drivers can enjoy six months of Apple Music free.

With the Porsche Connect App, car owners can check their 911's status or send their next route to the car before even setting off.

Porsche 911 Exterior

The Porsche 911 has a classic and iconic design. It has a long, flat hood and a steep windshield. The car's sloping roofline stretches toward the rear, creating an overall appealing look.

The Targa models comprises a fully automatic fabric roof that opens and closes in just 12 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. It gives an open-air feel while preserving the sleek coupe look with the roof up.

The Targa includes a distinctive roll-over bar and an innovative roof concept that combines open-top driving with the safety of a closed car. Its automatic roof system opens and closes in 19 seconds while stationary.

The common feature of all Porsche 911 cars is their light strip with three-dimensional taillights. The matrix beam headlights have 84 individually controlled LEDs that can adjust brightness by switching off or dimming specific sections. This allows the lights to avoid blinding other drivers while still illuminating the road around them. The headlights feature Porsche's signature four-point daytime running lights, which are highly recognizable and provide continuous visibility during the day.

This system also includes dynamic range control to adjust the headlight range based on speed and driving conditions, speed-sensitive headlight range control to adjust the beam's reach at different speeds, and Main Beam Assistant to manage the high beams automatically for the best possible visibility without causing glare.

Porche 911 Safety Features

Porsche 911 consists of advanced safety features that avoid accidents and ensure a safe driving experience. It comprises Collision and Brake Assist, which uses a front camera to detect vehicles ahead and apply emergency brakes to reduce the risk of collision. Lane Keeping Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition helps keep the car in its lane by offering steering assistance and displaying essential road signs. Lane Change Assist with Turn Assist monitors blind spots, alerting the driver with visual signals in the mirrors if a lane change is unsafe. Porsche Wet Mode detects wet road surfaces and adjusts systems like traction and stability control for improved handling in rainy conditions.

Porsche InnoDrive with Adaptive Cruise Control predicts speed and road conditions up to three kilometers ahead. It also adjusts speed and maintains the lane's position.

Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians or animals, displaying a thermal image in the instrument cluster to alert the driver of any critical objects in the vehicle's path.

Furthermore, the Reversing Camera and ParkAssist with Surround View provide multiple camera views and dynamic guidelines. Plus, Remote ParkAssist enables remote-controlled parking via smartphones. It helps in guiding the car into tight spaces or garages under driver supervision.
