Mercedes Benz C Class Overview

Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The W202, the first generation, replaced the 190 and was the first entry-level sedan since the A-Class in 1997. The second generation, W203, launched in 2000, featured various engine options, including inline-four, V6 petrol, and diesel engines.

The third-generation C-Class debuted on January 18, 2007, with an extended wheelbase and design inspired by the W221 S-Class and C219 CLS-Class. A facelift was introduced in 2011 for the 2012 model year. The fourth-generation W205 was unveiled in 2014 at the North American International Auto Show, offered in four body styles with unique codenames.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was first available as a sedan and station wagon. The SportCoupe, later known as the CLC Class, was produced until 2011, when the W204 C-Class coupe replaced it for the 2012 model year.

What's New for 2025?

The C300 sedan has undergone several minor updates for the new model year. It now features the latest version of Mercedes-Benz's MBUX operating system and includes a new standard center airbag for enhanced safety. New options available for this model include Nappa leather upholstery, an MB-Tex-wrapped steering wheel, and a new Alpine Grey exterior color. Specifications: Reason: Improved clarity, vocabulary, and technical accuracy while correcting punctuation and formatting errors.

All Mercedes-Benz C-Class models are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, which proudly displays the C300 badge on the trunk. This engine is complemented by a 48-volt hybrid system that can temporarily provide an additional 20 horsepower. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, while all-wheel drive is available as an option. Additionally, a nine-speed automatic transmission is the sole transmission choice.

The car delivers precise handling, as one would expect from a compact sports sedan. However, the steering lacks adequate feedback, and the ride can occasionally feel rigid. The braking performance is impressive, with the C300 coming to a complete stop from 70 mph in just 154 feet; however, the brake pedal could benefit from a firmer feel to enhance driver confidence.

Regarding acceleration, the all-wheel drive 4MATIC can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds, surpassing the previous generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class by 0.1 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Interior

The C-Class features a modern, high-tech interior that closely resembles that of the larger S-Class. Each model includes a digital display for the gauges, touch-sensitive controls, and an array of luxury features. The steering wheel is similar to that found in the S-Class.

The coupe features an 11.9-inch portrait-style touchscreen that allows drivers to easily manage various functions and settings. Additionally, it includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that displays essential driving information.

Furthermore, the standard features include heated front seats with memory settings, a sunroof, open-pore wood trim, and aluminum accents. The C-Class is approximately 2.5 inches longer than its predecessor, with an additional inch added to the wheelbase. Mercedes claims that this enhancement provides more rear-seat legroom; however, the difference is barely noticeable.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Exterior

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class features a stylish and modern exterior that embodies elegance and sophistication. Its smooth lines and curves create a sleek appearance, while the wide stance and low profile convey a sense of authority on the road. The bold grille at the front, adorned with the iconic Mercedes logo, captures the attention of onlookers. Complementing this design are LED headlights that ensure exceptional visibility.

The sculpted sides showcase clean lines, chrome accents, and striking alloy wheels that range from 17 to 19 inches. Its sleek LED taillights, dual exhaust outlets, and discreet trunk spoiler contribute to its sporty appearance.

The car is available in a variety of colors, including the newly introduced Alpine Grey, which adds a contemporary touch. The AMG Line package features aggressive bumpers, a diamond grille, and sporty wheels that enhance its athletic appearance. Overall, the C-Class exterior represents an ideal blend of luxury and performance-oriented design.

Infotainment

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a modern infotainment system with an 11.9-inch touchscreen display. It runs on the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, which is easy to use and includes voice controls that work with the phrase "Hey Mercedes."

Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car offers an optional upgrade to the Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System for music lovers to enjoy a better audio experience.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Safety Features

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers various safety features to protect both the driver and passengers. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Brakes, and Blind Spot Monitoring.

The car also features a 360-degree Camera System and Parking Sensors to provide a clear view of the surroundings. This helps drivers park easily and handle tight maneuvers more safely. Traction Control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) enhance grip and stability, especially on slippery roads.

The GUARD 360°® system keeps a virtual watch on the car when parked and uses surround cameras to monitor activity. If the car is bumped, it sends alerts and images to the driver's phone for reliable security.
