Many tyre dealers in Pakistan, specially in Karachi, tyre dealers are using tampering techniques to alter mfg dates.
There are many innocent people out there who just blindly trust the dealer & just visualize the tyres shining polished condition hence tyre dealer rip them with 3 year old tyres with only 2 years of remaining life.

Tyre MFG date check code is written on tyre in 4 digits.

eg: [ 4510 ]

This mean Tyre was made in [ 45th month ] of year [ 2010 ]

Yokos ... Japanese if you can find them, anytime over any other brand. Don't have experience of the Indonesian Yokos so would suggest Japanese Dunlop Grandtreks.
A big NO NO for Bridgestones ... too soft & weak side walls.

Reasons to buy

• Made in Japan
• Date doesn't look tampered
• 16000 PKR per piece
• nice tread shape

good buy but these are H/Ts. meaning that they are mainly made for the highway, if you are living in some city area then an excellent buy.

I also have been searching for A/T tires for my 99 surf.. Today a dealer showed me Dunlop Grandtrek AT3 which is a A/T tire.. He says its made in Thai and that Dunlop is not manufacturing tires in Japan anymore.. Has anyone got any experience with these tires?

He's lying to you that it's not made in Japan anymore. He's right about AT3 that it's made in Thailand. The Japanese ones are

These are Dunlop Grandtrek A/T TG28M2. It's written on the side wall. These ones are Japanese made. And it's imported. These are really excellent but the strange thing is that mostly on internet you will find reviews about AT3 not these TG28M2.

Yeah mate,, thats correct.. I also own a set of MT with their own rims ready to be swapped. I live in Islamabad so HT suits me, gives better road grip for cornering.

I use MT when i want to get monstrous look.
