The 190 E 3.2 AMG ("Baby Hammer") was the first model sold through Mercedes-Benz dealerships with Mercedes-Benz new car warranty. About 200 complete cars were made, in black or silver: they were very expensive (about $90,000). Besides 200 complete 190 E 3.2 AMG's, Mercedes-Benz sold AMG body kits and 3.2l AMG engines separately, so there are 190's fitted with those features at the factory or retrofitted. i found some more info by searching alot for the real specs of the 3.2 baby hammer. Its limited to 162mph cuz it will max out at 171

[SIZE=3][FONT=century gothic]55-hp, 332 lb-ft of torque, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder codenamed M133 that's packed neatly inside the nose of the CLA45 AMG 4MATIC. 's a gem of a mill that's constructed to the same meticulous standards as AMG's mighty V-8s and V-12s, though it's done in K?lleda, Germany. At just 2250 rpm, every pound-foot is first routed through a newly developed seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, then directed to the brand's 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system tuned for AMG duty. The setup uses a two-part propeller shaft to route torque to the rear wheels via a multi-clutch rear differential when slip or hard cornering is detected. It's a front-wheel-drive car in normal circumstances for fuel economy's sake, but can ultimately split torque 50/50 between the front and rear axles. Only 4.2 seconds to get the nearly 3600-pound CLA 45 to 60 mph from a dead stop.

One thing I love about the A45 and CLA 45 is the way they backfire. They sound SOOOO naughty.

Annual road tax is down to your CO2 emissions. The big engined AMGs are all in the highest band

I have a freind here in houston that has a very nicely kept 500E W124 - that thing moves with authority - it swings the speedo needle at 100 mph like its accelerating from 1st gear.

The C36 was great in its time but short lived. The C43 replaced it, then the supercharged C32, C50, C55 then the C63. In the western world they sadly depreciate like bricks,... which makes them used car bargains.

They age fast and are sor of considered "common" over time. Like all the greats (M3s, RS4s etc) these models eventually get replaced and since they are not cheap to run or insure they must be heavily discounted in order to sell them. I sold mine for ?30k with only 10,000 miles on her!

there are two problems with AMG - one is that their spares are phased out before they end the production run, meaning that if you require a replacement engine long block for an AMG car the item is always NLA even after a year of production. It needs to be remade by hand = pricey.

secondly most are leased and the handfuls that are owned are written off as tax deductions quite often.

Its like any other expensive car, they are never meant for second or third owners.

Nah, the engines & drivetrains last forever when compared to standard mercs (they're just built better). Repairs cost the same as any merc
