to be honest , oem toyota u wont find in open market, u have two types of filters available,the local desi made(usually low quality), chinese imported(low quality as well as high quality). you can buy imported high quality types and they wud serve u well.

Toyota 3s also dont have the OEM filter? And i have seen alot of shops posting on thier social media that they sell OEM air filters made in japan. I'm currently using chinese high quality but i want give OEM a try. Confused as to where i might find an authentic one.

i own a Passo 2014 XL package (KGC30) 1KR-FE for 3 years now and have run a good 35k kilometers.

Currently planning to take it on a long drive (700km+) so i started checking its fuel average very closely.

during the last two refills, the car gave me approximately 11Km/L with AC. ODO meter shows 11.4km Average (29 liters of refill with the car running 320km in total) speed is mostly 40-60km/h. A few questions:

1) is the 11KM average correct for city driving (karachi) with AC or can it be improved for my car?

2) i have a hard foot when driving mostly and i have read that light footing (having the eco light on) would improve the fuel average ?

3) i have been using both ZIC 0w.30 and Toyota geniune 0w-20 oil with similar results. Should i change this? Manual says 0w-20 is best.

4) i am using purely high octane (Shell V Power/PSO Altron X) ever since i got the car, no mixing. Is this correct?

5) i read that i should get catalytic converter cleaned and fuel injectors checked. Will it help the average ? I haven't done any major checks on the car since i got it 3 years ago. Just Brake pads changed, regular servicing and oil change at 5000km

5). Last genuine Toyota oil change according to the mechanic i should change it again at 8000km, is this correct?

6) the OEM tyres were worn out so i got Dunlop Sport S60 last year. The OEM tyres were 13" and the ones i have now are 14". Does this affect average? What is the recommended size? Don't know other details. A newbie in cars.

7) the car gears are D S and B etc. Does this mean i have a CVT gearbox? which CVT oil is recommended?

8) anything other than this that i can do or get checked to improve the average?

Don't touch the catalytic converter. Cleaning it will ruin its functionality which is to reduce emissions. Only needed when your car super sluggish and cannot go above 100 speed no matter how hard you push it.

Avg is decent and expected for in city driving. Motorway or highway should give above 16km/l .

0w20 is best and it's CVT transmission. Use Toyota CVT-tc or cvt-FE oil. Written on input bolt for transmission.

Do not run on hi octane. Car's engine is meant for normal unleaded fuel.

Changing oil at 8,000km if fully synthetic 0w20 n genuine oil filter.. is fine. Can do it at 5k km too if worried.

Recently, I bought all the filters, some lubes for my current ride, from this shop, so, I can guarantee about this shop.

Get in touch with Mr. Zeeshan, and can give him my reference; Mr. Basit Ali, who bought different lubes, and filters in bulk, for his 2007 model Accord.

Definitely YES.

I think NO. 0w-20, 0w-30, 5w-20 and 5w-30 will hardly make any difference.

Try using regular fuel. Its good and reasonable for these cars.

Catalytic Converter only, if you observe car feeling extremely sluggish, and drop in pick, along with fuel efficiency.

NOPE. 5,000 Kms / 06 months, whichever comes 1st seems correct.

YES. You have CVT, and any of CVTF-TC or FE would suffice. Still, I would suggest to go for Toyota genuine CVTF-FE, its preferable.

If tight on budget, then you may also look for Caltex CVTF, it meets / exceeds both CVTF-TC or FE criteria.

YES. They can, provided, they are very wide and large in dia.

Shell is top class. Bit more expensive, but Better than Total in my experience.
Havoline and Valvoline are also good.

All three have official places to buy them so no fake oil worry.

Shell 0w20, API SN fully synthetic.

There's only one 0w20 fully synthetic by Shell.. go to some big company pump, or oil change facility. They should have it.

Go for Shell Ultra 5w20. It is newer and about a 1000 rs. cheaper with similar specs.

why suggesting a grade that Toyota does not suggest.

Stick to 0w20. Not a ton of difference b/w 5w and 0w but still there is a difference on first starts, 0w flows much better.

There is not much of a difference between 0W and 5W at cold startups considering ambient temperatures all over Pakistan, and going for Shell Ultra 5W20 will save OP some money without compromising on anything.
