I did point this out in previous post that we need to ask IMC
1.) Did they add required design modification in rear suspension?
2.) Is stability control feature also added?
3.) Does 4WD fix flipping issue? What's the reason for not giving 2WD?

.India mai Altis 1.8 1152000 ki ha, aur fortuner 2250000 ki, Pakistan mai Altis 1.6 ki price 19 lac ha, tu. Fortuner ki price 38 lac honi chaiye, both are locally assembeld in india and pakistan

^ Yes your right, Why dont you make one and sell it at profit at 38-40 lacks that would be great,so many people want to buy it at that price, and you can put Indus motors out of business.

This is price specs of the fully imported Honda competition, altho i doubt the prices are updated with dollar but still, cutting 23 lacks isnt bad. What im trying to say is that any body would want to price it as cheap as possible.Suzuki brought in Vitaras (altho worst shape ever) at 2.5 million in 2005, at that time there wasnt any competition, gradualy it died and Toyota and Honda brought in Fortuner and Cr-V later, Toyota is the only one who shifting from imported to localy assembling. (assembling atleast).Suzuki quit with selling Vitara, APV was a nice success but its still being imported.Honda is still importing CRvs on orders selling/giving away to high end Atlas staff only probably And your stories about Fortuner turing over, IF you read and go thru them, They are of 2005-2006, Most people recomend tire changing, Indus ones are already equiped with Bridgestone tires. Stories also suggest something about the suspension.Again, yes its the cheapest SUV avalbile after Harrier i guess (im not sure if Harrier is still made or not) in the Toyota line up. You shouldnt expect much out of it. lacking features are Cruise Control, Stability control and traction control.Even if they arent decreasing the price they should atleast provide the cruise control, traction and stability control,

I agree with most of your points to me price is very reasonable. Although some features such as climate control, VSA etc would add great value to the car even if they price it at 5.5M reason is that such features can not be obtained by adding aftermarket accs or they should have introduced different trims. Some members are saying that in 5.2M a good used or new BMW/Mercedes can be bought but you have to think that at same price you are getting a new SUV, I am not sure about others but I would never travel from Karachi to Lahore in a sedan a SUV is my top priority for long routes due to condition of our roads and motorways.

Do you guys know that toyota has stopped giving test drive of fortuner? Only because of the negative feedback. They are now just show casing it at a couple of dealerships. It will be available for test drive after official launch n final price.
You have to drive it and then decide if its worth 5.8 mil. I didnt feel like spending this much. Specially after all the missing features and comparing the prices I don't think it's worth it.
There will always be people who think its a fair price for a brand new car. And it's not a matter of affording it. I have a budget of 6 million and at one point i was even thinking about importing 2009 latest shape prado but then decided to wait for fortuner. Now after knowing all facts I refuse to spend close to 6 million on a car that could be bought for 4 million.

its a hot seller because its the cheapest suv by toyota in the world...... it is available only in third world countries where safety regulations dont apply or are very much relaxed.... roll over is a big problem on corrugated roads, that is all pakistani roads except motorway. so we would have more rolled over fortuners than any other.
nobody is forcing me to buy it. im putting the word out to people atleast people should be warned of safety concerns, and if they still buy it dont drive it like a normal suv. it may be worth if a warning can save somebody and their family's life.

btw the technical problem is the centre of gravity too high, and rear suspension not suitable. something about the frequency of the dampers.

exactly!! all of them r blabbering about vsc n exp to control flip over issue...center of gravity issue come from suspension n balancing weight!!

The flipping cases are not from 05-06. If you check the date of the comments on the article you will see that those are from 2012. So the problem still exists.
However, I read in a few places that this issue is not related to high center of gravity but design fault of rear suspension. This is supposed to have been fixed after 2009 but we need to make certain with IMC before purchasing it. I think keeping tyre pressure low is not the right solution. May be it fixes the issue but it should be done mechanically.

The countries where Fortuner is sold are not essentially 3rd world countries but they definitely have relaxed safety laws. Most of the flipping cases reported are from South Africa and Australia. We can say Fortuner is mostly sold in Asia. Even Japan doesn't manufacture this vehicle for their domestic market. I wonder why?
In 2009-2010 the old platform/chassis of Hilux was abandoned in Europe and USA and they launched new modified version. Everyone knows that West has strict safety laws when it comes to vehicle safety features and crash testing.

Well ... here in Lahore two of my friends were told by dealers that we are not offering tests anymore. May be you should go and give us your first hand impression of the vehicle. I know the vehicle itself is fine and even I would love to own it but with right price and safety features. I first had interior and immobilizer on top of my check list and these two being taken care of, I now have 2 more.

1.) Right price i.e. around 4 million
2.) Confirmation on vehicle stability feature/modification

What does he have to say about stability control and rear suspension design modification?
Looks like 5.2 million is going to be final price. 2 dealers told me they have already 10 advance bookings within the first day. Looks like they are lying.
IMC would be stupid to sell 70 of these whereas Civic is over booked and there's 2-3 months wait time and own of 1-1.5 lacs. Now some of you could say that it's not in competition with Civic or it's no a Sedan but I have a strong opinion that they can get a lot of Civic customers by pricing it around 4 million. There's is a huge market for cheaper SUV not the the other way around.

any company design any vehicle first they design according 2 weather conditions ,road conditons n needs of people if pakistanis need toyota tundra 100% they can launch tundra here
