Same same, I was told 115k. They said changing compressor is not the solution, as carbon originates from compressor and then spreads in the whole system.

Yes they replace the entire AC system but then Are they installing a clutch based compressor instead of that sensor based one in the package ? For some reason I forgot to ask them this. Did you by any chance inquire about this.

Corolla tenth generation onwards have variable capacity AC compressors to improve fuel consumption and efficient air conditioning. Unlike conventional compressors, these compressors are controlled by a solenoid valve in them which gets signal from AC ECU (AC amplifier) based on readings from numerous sensors. The movement of solenoid valve causes the capacity of the compressors to vary according to the conditions ( cabin temp, outside temp, gas pressure etc). Proper functioning of this system can be checked via computer diagnostics software via OBD port in the car which gives out fault codes(DTCs) as well as readings of different sensors/ devices to arrive at some conclusion. Unfortunately the mechanics here including those of Toyota dealerships are not experts on this and the easiest solution for them is to replace compressor with clutch type old compressor and unnecessary expenditure involved in replacement of other components. i had a similar issue where compressor was turning on and off intermittently and luckily the fault was traced to a loose/ old contacts of solenoid connector which i just cleaned and all was fine. The Toyota motors gave me the estimate of approx Rs 55000 for replacement of compressor and condenser, without even checking from a gauge or computer..... . The operation of sensors should be checked and the AC ECU function should be checked via Oscilloscope for duty cycle signal. Sometimes the solenoid valve of compressor does get stuck and and need to be replaced.

Hello guys. Facing an issue in my Corolla Altis 2012. I am noticing driver side front floor carpet getting moist/wet. I dried out once with a blow dryer but it got moist/wet again. Can't see any condensation from AC dripping on the carpet though. Haven't washed the car either, so looking for clue as what could be causing it

I bought a Corolla Gli 2017 facelift model in April this year. When I bought the car, its AC was not cooling well. I added more gas to the AC to make it work better, after which the compressor started showing problems like AC tripping (turned off by itself while driving). With the passage of time issue got worst and compressor is not working at all by now. I consulted with different mechanics & all also did some research on this issue and found that this was a consistent problem with the Corolla 10th and 11th generation, due to a sensor based compressor. All the mechanics have suggested me is to install a clutch based compressor from a previous generation of Corolla as it is bolt fit over 2NZ engine, however it requires a slight modification in wiring for installation of Relay. But I am hesitating this alteration as i am sensitive about car wiring. I am more intented toward the genuine sensor based aftermarket (Kabli) compressor. However, mechanics are not recommending this. I need your expert advice whether to go for Jugad method of Dumba Corolla Compressor or should install a qabli Sensor based compressor? I belong to Multan.

My 2 cents. Do not go for clutch based compressor. It will create issue like unstable idling and fuel economy will go down generally Toyota ppl say that life of this compressor is 60,000 km and change it afterwards if it starts to create problems.
Either go for brand new compressor or complete change of set up if there is carbon in the system. Expense expected in latter case upwards of 125K.
There is also an option of going to after market denso Thal engineering who install genuine denso systems if there is outlet in Multan. Lhe mein it's on mall road

Surprising Honda Life ac compressor is a good power house. Installed in Passo and cooling is just fabulous. No more ac tripping when idle. Not much load on engine too. Fuel average becomes better .

As per most of AC guys Honda life compressor is good bot reliable for long runs.

From last 7-8 years, compressor of Terios Kid was popular amongst Local A/c walas & now recently from last 1 year, this Honda Life compressor is getting popularity amongst all local A/c walas claiming it as very light (no load) Scroll type/ Rotory type compressor

Compressor prices is 8500 , but need to install bracket plate also engine alternator/compressor belt has to be changed Bando 6P1300. Total cost of material is 11500.
But then enjoy the chilled room

Ac walas says yeah compressor carbon nahi banata lol . Really i am surprised that I don't even feel compressor noise when its on. It is very light on engine. But the size wise it's bigger than passo original compressor.

Aoa bro i have gli 10 model. All mechanics are suggesting me to change with a clutch one. U r saying k u changed with sensor based & its working fine. Plz guide k gli mn change krny se sahi chalta ha ?
