ECT has the worst fuel average, i was so disgusted by the limitation of four forward... its irritating

CVT not only has very smooth shifting but also compensates alot in fuel efficiency

As for resale, remember even Xli sells big time, why won't Altis sell, manual or automatic, it will remain best-selling for a few more years to come

You are right that CVt is better than ECT (considering 1.8 & 1.6).
But still in my opinion, Ect has a good fuel average with a light foot. It gives me 14 km/L to 14.2 km/L in Lahore city (on canal road, including Traffic jams in the evening Off timings).
On motorway, it gives 16 km/L upto 110 km/h. At over & above speed, the average drops.

U are really lucky. I never ever got 14 in actual in my Grande within city. Always follow tank to tank mileage. Meter per chalain to kuch bhi ajataa hai

Ect in 1.6 is pretty good with economy. Gli had mileage issues. I have grande myself and we have more 1.) in circle and actually 1.6 are almost equal tin mileage within city

Yes brother, though i haven't checked the average manually but overall it is a good car. I am very much satisfied bcoz i was previously using GLi 1.3 manual.
And truly speaking/telling, i am little concerned about its (1.6 auto) mileage. I like the way it remains smooth and within power even at 160 km/hr.

I have used 1.6 Altis for 3 years. And used a pre FL grande for a few months and I can tell from personal experience that the mileage on same route of both cars was same.

Consider my post unbiased because I now own neither of the two.

I have kept both 2017 facelift grande and 1.6 together. Grande sold, still have 1.6 with me.. average on grande was significantly better in karachi durring office hours. It used to give arround 12 and 13.. while 1.6 stays between 10 and 11.

This comparison worth considering since both the cars would be running on similar routes by the same driver(s) over a period.
I also have a 2017 Grande but it hardly ever went above 11 in Karachi city but it was all dependant upon my routes and driving style, and couldn't be compared with your mileage. When I took it to the motorway, it did achieve 16-17 kmpl which means it was otherwise ok in consumption. Above was with regular fuel.

hahaha.. technically no.. and there are also high chance that you get caught and drone might get confiscated.
I had few DSLRs in the car while coming back from a trip, and they made a huge fuss about it for 30 mins at the gate.

Askari 5 particularly is inside the malir cantonment where they have many sensitive no-go areas for civilians and surveillance of any kind is strictly prohibited. So no drones, unless you have special permission from Station Headquarters. The rest of askaris societies are not as strict. This one is due to being inside malir cantt. Which also applies to all the other housing societies inside malir cantt.
