Our local "techs" have been able to replace individual cells in batteries for quite a few years now. They don't last as long as original batteries, but also cost 1/4 or sometimes even lower.

I am thinking to enter the full ecosystem.
1. A 15KW solar system
2. An electric JDM ( Sakura or EK X EV) for city use
3. A plugin Hybrid (Sea Lion 6) to replace my existing 7 seater, for longer routes

All charging at home.

Fantastic - I'd recommend checking out the Honri for city use. It does give Sakura vibes (excluding the build quality )

I agree with Akbar. Do take a look at Honri and test drive it.
It's local assembled. After sales won't be an issue.

But my point was that buying a local Chinese one in 4 million Vs an imported Japanese one (used) in 5 million .... JDM has an edge, probably.

My current city drive car (for kids school pickup/drop) is Honda CIty automatic 2012 model..... Very heavy on fuel. EV will replace that city, IA.

Fingers crossed for solar installation in a month or two... Rest of the plans are dependent on that one! ️

Honri is a size of Wagon R. It's very spacious. Sakura is small A-Segment vehicle.

In addition to that, I would trust Chinese more than Japanese when it comes to EVs. They are far ahead of everyone in EV technology

That’s your opinion but it’s a matter of his 5 million hard earned rupees.

I would never prefer a small player like Honri over an established quality JDM EV car. Japs don’t make junk. You think they will make substandard stuff for their high quality domestic market. Quality over quantity.

Sure, Trust Chinese EV but only if it comes from a major player like BYD.

What established player? Nissan is not even operating in Pakistan? Nissan has the worst reliability score among Japanese automakers according to international reports. What will happen when he need any replacement part? Dewan is even planning to localize Honri batteries in Pakistan. Dewan is the same group who import BMWs in Pakistan.

Chinese EVs is not only "BYD". There's a huge number of brands in China which you have never heard of and majority of them are making quality EVs better than your established legacy brands.

Exactly no one talks about the local startup who is also doing well in Karachi. They have partnered up with some showroom in DHA lahore and their bikes are available but I have not seen any reviews from pakwheels yet. Strange.

Definitely not for major ones, because it doesn't make sense from a business / strategy point of view. If you're going to wait to make a video only until some marketing agency approaches you for something major and anticipated, you're just going to loose potential viewers who'd go to other channels who do end up covering these vehicles.
