Synthetic Vs Mineral Engine oil for Motorcycles?

API-SF oil currently manufactured in pakistan is a disgrace..The world has moved on to better and advanced base oils and we still are forced to use SF

How comes? Have you some experience with it or studied some where?

This oil seems perfect on paper, i did try this oil in my Junoon also and didn't like it at all.
Though it is a 10W/40, aka at cold rated "10" and at 100 degree rated "40", so basically when engine is full hot, it should behave similar to other 20W40 oils but it doesn't. kinda feel like you are using something like 10W30...

Today on Mechanic shop I have found Catrol Activ 4T
It is SAE 20-40 W, API-SG and also JASO MA2 Certified.
Mechanic was also saying that this oil is 15 rupees expansive than Havoline in 0.7L category.

So, I consider this oil as perfect in our market, where no oil is even JASO Ma certified, not to talk about JASO MA2.

As I remember, I once called that guy and he suggested me some retail shop for Petromin Oils
But due to scarcity of this oil, one can't ensure its availability and genuineness at time when needed ??

Indeed very good question.
Cold start warm-up was real problem in Honda CD-100
I was thinking that due change in Carburettor, the problem will be solved
But I am sorry, Honda still not addressed this problem, in winter, this bike needs five minutes warm-up before ride

My solution with CD-100 is after starting up, drive the bike with Choke On position for few kilometres, it will warm-up. I have tested this technique on CD-100, might work on Pridor.

The problem still exists..You will have to live with it..In morning start the engine with choke or without choke..Let is idle for 2 mins ..Then give low rpm revs..Then let it idle again for 3 mins and repeat the deed..The bike takes atleast 10-15 mins to warm up before hitting the road in mornin..

If the bike is not warm enough you will notice lag//inconsistent riding of the bike(like you pull the accelerator and bike response wont be the same,,will give little jhatkas(if colds) and wont run properly..

My procedure is let it idle and warm up for like 10-15 mins with some low revs in between..Then get it on road shift gears at considerable low rpms..Keep the speed min 30 max 40 for first 2-3 Kms then you can take it till 50..Never try to over rev,,,orover speed when the engine is not at its optimum running temperatures(Pistons will wear out)

Bhai mera cd extreme colds main dusray kick pay start ho jata hai..

Aur cold engine ko choke day kar start karun to first try main start ho jata hai..

Bike ka idle rpm bhut low to nai?

Btw if you are sick of engine taking a lot of time for warming up us any 10w40 grade oil..

Behtar hai kay bike ko subah thora time dain garam honay kay liae..Aur jab engine garam ho jayay to pehli kick pay yaqeenan start ho gi

Piston wear jaldi hota hai..Friction say nuksaan ziada hota hai kyun kay cold engine main oil sahi tarahn lubricate nai karta because its thick and cold..When oil is hot is flows more freely and is less thick/viscous..

Aik baat aur..Bilkul thanday engine ko ziada over rev na karain

Have you seen that oil being poured in your ride?

If not then we actually dont know whether the oil is genuine Hondas..Thats why i changed my factory filled(dealer filled) oil at 300 Kms because i didnot want to take any chances..

Honda oil is 20w40..It is more thick during cold start so take more time to warm up than a 10w40..AT running temperature(garam engine) both oils behave the same

oh, i thought that if you don't warm it up for so long, you won't be able to ride aka bike engine shutting down or something...
And as far as oil goes, i think you are being over-concerned about it. Its a multigrade oil after all which was made to work in both cold and hot conditions.

Bhai 12 saal say gari chala raha hoon..Is liae thora bhut idea hai..Khaas tor pay oils aur car engine ka..Aur meri gari bhi ohc(cam driven) hai aur yeh bike bhi (the working is same)

10w40 for winters and 20w50 for summers..They are multigrade but still a 20w oil will take buck load of time to warm up..A 10w40 will consume less time for warming,,thus less hassles and more carefree system..

Oils are my speciality 10w20,5w20,10w30,10w40,10w50 there are many grades for different climatic conditions and engine requirements..So you need to choose your oil's viscosity by the climatic conditions you encounter..WHich results in better engine response//less wear and tear..It is a science of lubrication after all.

Masla yeh hai 20w40//20w50 oil kay saath(sardiyon main) kay cold start pay log 10-20 seconds baad scooter chalanay lagtay hain..It is just like raping your engine..20w oil ziada thick hota hai 10w ki nisbat say so isko thora time chaiyae thin honay main jo hum nai detay..result thick oil which cannot flow freely while we are over reving..

If you are using 20w40 in winters just let the engine warmup at idle rpm with some low reving in b/w in static condition..Engine will get warm but will consume a little more time so be patient
