hmm you are from karachi..

lets say you are in Liaqatabad daakhana area and all of a sudden you hear a blast and then gun fire, you (being sensible) would make every attempt to get yourself out of there. naturally you would run your car hard.

BUT

as your engine cooling system is using "Allah miyan ka universal coolant only" it has ate away the welch plugs, radiator seams and other bits too. This causes it to leak out while you are gunning it hard.

The leak causes the engine temp to spike which leaves you with two possible outcomes.

1 - your engine siezes due to heat - the goons get to you and either shoot you or set your car on fire.

2 - your engine runs but is internally cooked to oblivion causing you to drive slow while taking stone throws and gun fire - you limp your car home and prepare to spend 100K on the rebuild.

Not a good situation. lol

Sir jee..! You are taking me wrong. I also beleive that coolant is necessary in car and the situation described by you is soo true. The cars also gets heat up when stucked in traffic jam with ac on cng. But as you said that on hard paddling the car heat ups but i want to tell you may be you are right but my persnal experienced is it doesnot i also sometimes drive soooo hard but never seemed any problem in my coure. But a burning smells starts in my relatives 82 corolla even if you drive at 70-80 at fourth gear (top of that car). Thats y considering the op car i not suggested only said no major issues comes out. And i also have seen many people using water and no such problems comes out else of radiator requires some service and some welding after every 16-18 months. And after getting your situation i agree with you. Not a 1000/- rupees for coolant for 2 years worth more than life.

But iska matlab ye thori hai ke aap bad duain denge.

Yes bro you are right i am from karachi but you seems to be from some where else. Because in karachi people are soo used to that they after listening firing or bomb blast instead of running out of taht area they start to search from where the sound was coming and after reaching the place of incident they start making the videos and tells other i was standing there at the time was the second bomb blastss..!

it doesn't mater which car you have because all radiators work almost the same. Coolant is must for a car because:

1/ it helps in temperature control
2/ it avoids rusting in the radiator
3/ it acts as an anti freezing agent during winters

TRY LLC coolant. i am satisfied from its performance

:)bhaiyon stop fighting with own experience & come back to original topic, last time during service at 3s dealer Toyota eastern motors, they cleaned my radiator & filled with ordinary water saying that coolant(toyota original) one was less so we flushed it & now its whole water, next time we will change with coolant, now time has come I need to change oil change & radiator soon, I have no plan to go to 3s now, so please tell me which one will be best in this hectic 50C temp. : putting whole 100% green coolant of nasa(almost 4-5 bottles will come @ Rs. 250 each almost 1250 max.) or put pink color Toyota coolant(with 50 50) with water ,cost is 1350 but I don't wanna add water, I want to put only coolant so which one will be best. nasa, pyra or any other brand available in Karachi. one more thing wat is difference between orange,pink,red & green coolant , is there any difference in specifications or just color difference according to brand

Never run your engine on 100% coolant.

you need to cut it with water (distilled is the best) - its the water in the coolant that does the cooling, the additives that you put in are for lower freezing point, higher boiling point and rust prevention. Remember that unless the coolant says so - it wont remove any rust.

@xulfiqar Bhai when should we change the coolant of a car, i mean should it be changed after 6 months or 1 year or when??? Secondly can u recommend a good coolant available locally in pakistan with its dilution technique?

the newer oat and hoat coolants (toyota pink/red, honda blue) etc are long life coolants good for 100,000 kms or 5 years.

The old green ones were a 2 year job.

Distilled water! Is this the same distilled water that is being sold at chemists? I don't trust my tap water and neither do I want to put bottled water in my radiator. Distilled water is the only way to go, if only I can find some.

get a pre-diluted coolant (zic is a good choice) and u dont need to mix water with it. solves the problem. dont go for cheap coolants, try to buy from an authentic source since the cooling system in cars directly affect the engine so it is not worth taking the risk

I will ditto xulfiqar's comment for using a diluted coolant. coolants available in local markets will exert extra pressure on ur cooling system since they are viscous. Typical coolants have ethylene glycol as main component which is toxic in nature. experts recommend to 1/3 mixture with water to gain maximum benefit.

If you have been using water in the past then there is a higher likelihood of coolant creating fresh problems.
For new cars though, Havoline Extended Life Coolant (Concentrate) from Caltex is one of the best in the business and it can be used 50-50 with clean water (preferably one of the mineral water brands like Nestle due to fewer contaminants)

Bro i have mistakenly used concentrated undiluted coolant in 2015 cultus bought in november last year... Initially there was no issue in car but now it has started giving blue smoke at startup... Car didnt overheat on the temperature guage.. Can this undiluted coolant be the cause of leaking engine valve due to poor heat exchange?? Or its less likely??
