Short trip to Kohat

Once again I would like to say "very nice pictures".And both the car and cockpit are nice.And I have gone through the pics many times since I logged in to Pakwheels, so you are right , m lost in the tread....hahahaha.I also love photography and was first and second position holder back in college.And whenever I travel to some place I try to observe each and everything on my way, the road,the places,the fields,the mountains,even mountains without a single green plant on them and etc......so you can say such pictures make me very happy.

Okay.And as you said it was your first time, so it was better for you then that you took N80 from N5.As you must have seen some new development of Islamabad Zone 2 sectors like Tele gardens ,F 17 etc.And at least you have seen the actual route to Fateh Jang and Kohat.This interchange on motorway was not in the initial plan, as it was not there when M1 was opened in first phase from Islamabad to Burhan interchange, it was later on approved and constructed during Shaukat Aziz's tenure.

Yes and it was in the actual plan of Islamabad too at the time of planning when Islamabad was planned.And Islamabad actually extends till Tarnol rather Fateh Jang almost and the new ISB airport is in Fateh Jang area.And on GT road it extends till Taxila almost.And there is a plan of construction of Khayaban e Margalla from Nicholson monument on GT road to Khayaban e Iqbal in Islamabad.But you know CDA, they could not develop D12 for last 20 years what else can one expect from them.If the land meant for Islamabad was evacuated and possessed by CDA within years of developing Islamabad at that time, what a beautiful planned city it could have been.

All my way, to and from Kohat, I noticed this "new" road sign at many places... Anyone knows what this sign mean...?

Speed check!

We are getting into modern era like the europe highways have the large info display pannels that also present the traffic info and marks, but here this sign must be manned by some local who will put the cautionary sign as per the requirments of the day

On a serious note, this road is not meant for the speed you travelled with, please stay safe.

memad is right.You should be very careful about the speed next time on this highway and the stopping local wagons beyond long blind curves,donkey carts and tractors especially in dark.I try not to exceed 100km/hr on my 2.0D Saloon 2004(the car without brakes and even 100km/hr is dangerous for my car I think, but at least I know the curves).You have an excellent machine but still you should be careful.

I still remember once I just tried to ride through a curve at 80km/hr where I used to do 60km/hr and my rolla reminded me there and then not to do that again with it.It wasnt more than a little skid and the car even did not go out of the road but it was an eye opener for me....

Below pictures are from Pindi side of bridge showing the water level just little away from bridge, but the bridge still survived.

Below is the picture in winters from Kohat side of bridge when water level is low.You can compre it with the above pictures to have an idea of the level of flood water.
