the painter does his job well and i am hoping for the best IA! lots of hard work has been done! changing the colour tone will be a little bit of problem for me because in future if the car gets any scratch, our nalaiq painters wont be able to match it properly .... so the metallic blue colour which honda did on this car has been finalized!

get at least 3 cans of body cavity wax and apply generously to the car, the areas that rusted on the rear wheel arches rust to due water entrapment and condensation, the wax prevents this water from pooling.

thanx or the suggestion should it be applied before paint? i mean what type of wax/medium it is? is it a spray can? and how should i apply it?

This model of city is great in every aspect. A very balanced and elegant car. It is my favorite in all of the city generations yet. I keenly look forward to your project.

The only thing which i found faulty in this car is its power steering system. The pump and rack fail quicker than any other vehicle. I got kabuli rack for 13,000 and pump for 4000 2 years back.

Almost all Hondas with HPS face this issue. I had the pump on my city replaced for 2500/- 2 years ago... Its the same pump as 6 Gen City...

Rack is still stock..;. It leaked but had it repaired, going strong...

Honda are very sensitive to the kind of fluids you are putting in. HPS on my civic has always been maintained with Honda PSF and after 10 years and 100,000 KM no problems with PS system.

today I got the power steering pump changed of my Honda City 98 modle,it was an easy find and quite cheap too, costed me Rs2500 for a good kabli one but the main issue came when the guy opened the steering rack to check for the seals as there was a minor leakage and found out the main shaft inside the steering rack had some wear and tear...the rate he gave me for kabli steering rack was between 18-20k and that too wasn't available at the moment..had to get the shaft polished from the lathe machine and put it back hoping it wont leak again ....costed me additional 4k

Don't get a local motor. If you can get your hands on clean D15B, nothing like it. What's wrong with your original motor ? It is nice and powerful for its light curb weight.

For rack, what is the exact issue ? I am personally against kabulli parts for this model because it is not JDM. The only good kaballi parts are the ones which are interchangeable with previous gen Civics.

its original engine produces a weird sound from crank shaft and the car bogs down sometimes! gray smoke and eats engine oil. however its still giving great mileage on cng and petrol both. steering rack has a slight bent and the power steering oil is leaking from it! i can also swap 1.5 neo engine in it! however i can also swap the original d13b from a nose cut of this car which is coming from thailand! what should i do? i personally dont want a bigger engine. 1.3 hypervalve is simply perfect for sx8

the wax is applied last - if you look in the wheel well - you will find a few holes with rubber covers on them, those holes were specifically drilled to apply the wax coating. The largest one near the front edge opens into the "footboard' aka sill aka rocker panel. wax is applied liberally there too.

Dont confuse undercoating with wax, btw the undercoating extends out all the way till the lower edge of the footboard or sill panel to protect against rusting.

When installing the tail lamps back - make sure that the foam rubber gasket is good - if its not then water gets into the boot and creates a nasty muggy atmosphere which also stinks and causes fungus and bacteria growth.

my next purchasing will be of 3M wax cavity cans IA! and thank God that rear lights has got that thick black foam layer(still in good condition)
to protect them from dust and to avoid that muggy atmosphere about which u mentioned

If the head and block surface has not been milled too many times and you can find a good mechanic who can replace the internals and pack it with stock metallic gasket, you can go for repair.

Rack bent is a not a good thing. Get a new rack.

D13 from thailand is a gamble since its an old model so any old motor you get has to have a alot of miles. You don't want to spend twice. D13 has to repalced only if you have seriously overheated and ended up with warped surfaces. Rest is easily repairable.

the rear fender flare was not upto the mark so today i asked denter to have a look at other side and re-do the fender flare

sx8 has got natural fender flares in its chassis which looks really good. i didnt let denter to eliminate this feautre by showing his poor crafts-manship. look at the picture below of fender flare(rear)
