PKDM Alto VXR 660cc To Alto Works conversion

One solution that i have in mind is to source the wiring harness for an alto works and replace mine with it. Since the connectors that go into the meter for both cars are the same, Suzuki must’ve integrated the wiring for alto works into the harness and so i won’t have to look for which pin does what. Thoughts?

No. It gets data from obd2 port. In which ecu reply to the calls of Pids. Ecu does need a tachometer pin to read rpm. It's for output if needed, Ecu calculates rpm from crank/cam sensors.

the ECU must have pin out to make RPM meter work, just need to device a way to let is send signal to cluster.

I have been looking to get a cheaper solution for RPM in alto with Help of Hassan.

It is basically to get display on the android unit getting signal from OBD scanner thru bluetooth.

SZ does show the RPM but in numerical format, it does not support graphical display just like Torque.

so trying to find a way to let it connect to torque app to show RPM in graphical interfacw

I previously tried the obd2 Bluetooth scanner for rpm with the app RealDash on the android display and it worked. A little laggy but i blame the 5$ obd for that lol

Im not sure about that anymore since I haven’t used that in a year. I was just going thru the list of protocols available in the RealDash app until one of them worked. I‘ll reinstall the app and see if the settings are still saved and I’ll let you know

Hi I also has this Alto works meter & in similar situation like yours, RPM wont works, although if we install Alto RS turbo meter (it's RPM meter works with our PKDM Alto). Now coming towards the solution so far, there is a Meter guy in Rawalpindi (Shahbaz) famous for meter kind of work, he has done it in an Alto VXR , however i am living in Karachi , Rawalpindi is too far from here, so from which city you are ?

Bro im in the same boat as you. Im in karachi and i ordered the meter from pindi expecting people here would’ve done this before. Seeing as how easy the change was i expected more people to have done it already

Dear, actually he says to bring the car to him, so I have postponed this till my next trip to Punjab in next year, actually my village is near to Pindi, so will get this thing done in my next trip. I will inbox you his contact # tommorow.

Also when I connect this Alto works Meter with my VXR, after starting the car it gives check light , so does it also happens with your case ?

There is no check light coming with the stock meter.

If you plug your old meter back in it will give a check engine light in it too now. Once you start the car with a new meter it will give check engine but its no issue. Get it connected to a computer and get the error cleared. When i recieved the new meter and fitted into mine it did the same thing so i just got the error cleared since it was just due to a part change and not an actual problem in the system

480km in city which city do u live ? or are you driving with AC? ?? i guess not..

I contacted him regarding installation of RPM meter in my coure but he said it won’t work
On the other hand i know a person who installed the same meter in cuore and is working all good ( He's in FSD)

Yes Hafiz Jee is in domain of fixing and repairing Faulty meters.
Domain of functioning of guage and meters is of usually Auto Electrician.

I too have installed rpm meter in my old 95 model car which did not had rpm in actual plus meter operational experts also makes other guages functional like oil pressure or oil temperature in car which originally do not have these. I did rpm functioning FROM Maani Electrician at Sagheer Centre....
For other experts, might be @capsat can guide better too.

I drive constantly with ac on in Karachi. My route is north nazimabad to safoora on university road. Traffic and everything. Sometimes on light foot, sometimes heavy depending on my mood. I’ve only used liqui Moly 0w20 in my car till 40k kms and after that I’ve done one oil change with 5w30 liqui moly, heavier oil and air filters than the ones suzuki sells and have never seen a mechanic Alhumdulillah. I dont abuse my car and shift at lower rpms so i easily get 450+ in city (MaShaAllah).
