BMW should have been a safe bet, but having read how they went in free practice two i am having a rethink. Mclaren can`t win unless six cars running infront of them retire. Renault should be judged on where Piquet Jr is and not where Alonso is. Ferrari is too big a gamble to use in a GP where realistically their best result looks like third place.

There is a cut off point for driver and team selection. I think for Oz it`s Saturday 8 am our time. So pick something before that.

I know what you mean buddy but I just can't get myself to use renault... of the teams apart from the diffuser three ferrari are the only ones I am willing to gamble on. It may turn out to be a waste of their selection but until I can see how the cars are performing I'm gonna have to go red... its a safety pick.

I need to see how the BMWs perform...

LOL! Lefty knows things that others don`t. I think my last post was a dead give away.

Well, I had opted for a BMW driver and Ferrari as my team then changed it to a Ferrari driver and BMW as my team. After the troubles of BMW yesterday i changed it. BMW will still do quite well, if anyone is sand bagging it`s BMW.

Here is my theory, run it by lefty and lemme know if it makes sense. By having Ferrari as my team i was looking at getting 11 extra points only for third and fourth place which is where they should finish at best. We agree that at the most Brawn and others will have constructor points taken away meaning the race results will not change. I think using one of the four Ferrari options and only getting 11 points for it as a team is not a wise choice.

My gamble is that the diffusers having been approved by FIA and the race stewards a couple of times might be too hard for the court of appeals to over turn. In addition the seven teams without it must already have started work on making something similar. So i`m hopping their appeal is turned down:D It`s a gamble worth taking, might get a lot of points or might actually end up with zero. Even if i don`t get much I`d have saved Ferrari for a better race.

I was going to do the same thing... no jokes thats why I was talking about game theory there... but in the end I went with caution and chose ferrari and in doing so over turned leftys decision...

SO yes... lefty approves of your theory... and I agree with your logic for the appeal on the diffuser issue too... I dont see them over turning the decision of the stewards specially when they have gone over it twice... so good on you man...

What better way to start the Fantasy league.....to have leftys approval which means so much to everyone here:P You should know better then to over rule leftys decision made with infinite wisdom. Thought it was brave to opt for Ferrari when genius83 also warned you against it.

Oooooooh... true genius has spoken! And he has a point... qualifying is about 1/3 the battle... there is the pit stop strategy and the actual race to win as well... yes I know exactly what you're gonna say... considering these two are starting out front they could quite possibly win this sucker from the front and not have to worry about any traffic and frankly after watching the forst two sessions of qualifying I was pretty much mesmerised... This is what F1 is about... technical ability combined with driving capability with a bit of sly thrown into the mix and this is what you have: A game changer. Hats off to the Brawn GP guys. And no offence to the Button fans (you know who you are you lonely sod) but I want barrichello to win this... tomorrow is going to be awesome!

As for the F1 league... thank God for Vettel or I would have been in serious trouble... by the by I didn't get the full qualifying list on the website I was checkout... who finished 15th?

Here is my take on the matter though this discussion should be on the F1 thread.

Brawn has serious question marks over it`s reliability, but having seen what they have done so far who would bet against a Brawn 1-2?

As for the man in 15th place who might end up 20th tomorrow, I am not happy about that. I don`t want him to have any mechanical problems this season and thus no excuses. I want him to try and fail to make Q3 :)Not have an excuse for being unable to get in Q3 like he has today. If any of you had been following some of the Mclaren fans over winter testing on other F1 forums you would know how they went on and on and on about Mclaren sand bagging, and how they would blitz everyone come qualifying, LOL! if they were sand bagging they sure have taken it to another level:-! let him try, and fail again and again.

There is no Alonso to sort out the mess, no Alonso to blame for destabilizing the team, and no Alonso, whose set up you copy and put on your car and above all, see how life is in F1 when you don`t have Ferrari design to copy paste.
