Mehran's RPM at different speeds: (0.900 4th gear, 4.350 ring gear and pinion, 145/70 R12 tires)

60 Km/h - 2434
80 Km/h - 3289
100 Km/h - 4078 :o
120 Km/h - 4933 :-#
135 Km/h - 5525

This car seriously needs a 5th gear. Anybody ever think about a Chevy Joy gearbox swap?

I once asked on PW for 5 speed gearbox for Mehran. Didn't get any help. Joy's gearbox will fit in Mehran?

Joy has the F8C's transmission , so it should be a bolt on to the Mehran. The gears are cable selected though, so you might have to make some minor alterations for it. Source (bottom of the page)

What are you using in radiator? Water or coolant? If water then flush it and replace with coolant.

Then get your fan of radiator checked first, if it is ok, then get your radiator serviced if needed then replaced.

just came back from naran after a two days tour from islamabad..i calculated avg kf new efi mehran and it gave 16.5 ..and driving was full of stop and go..and alot of driving is on 2nd and 3rd gear... did this whole tour in one tank ..still got fuel sufficient fuel left in tank

I have a carby 2011 mehran. Just changed engine oil 100 KM before and went to sahiwal from lahore. got my tank full from thokar byepass, used AC through out and drove very agressively. top speed with AC was 110. came back and refilled the tank. it costed RS 1330 and distance travelled was 374Km. out of which 30-40 km was inside sahiwal and its not a big city so top speed was 40-50

The average was above 18km/L with AC and I think its really impressive given its not EFI. have 94k on odo meter.

yea and i agree thats its true avg of mehran if kept nicely.. i get 20+ on motorway with 100 110 speed
