Your car floated for the whole 100,000 kms? And you never bothered to contact Toyota?

Btw agriauto makes stuff that is now found in other countries too, its a hard pill to swallow but its true.

Btw more jounce control at higher speed is a trademark of excel G as they are overdamped (called stiff in desi lingo). They act like rigid rods at low speed though.

Yup you are absolutely right. It took you 100000kms to realise your car’s suspension was faulty and you installed KYB Exel-G which are basically cheapest of the lot and hard as rock on low speeds instead of agriauto which are basically used as OEM for Toyota. You truly should be heading Suspension department at IMC or Toyota Japan.

Did I say that? Why you guys tends to develop theories of your own?
Well I did visit stealership. They told its as it is. Drove cars of friends it was similar as well.
Agriauto must be making good stuff, but you just cannot say that shock absorbers of thailand and Japan corolla would be the same as pkdm. Agriauto shocks are oil filled though.

What a shame! Again you're wrong. You should be an olympic gold medalist in self assumptions. Admit it once you're wrong. Or maybe denial to something isn't your thing.
it took me 100k kms to change them because they leaked. Read carefully coz you're a mod . I truly shouldn't be arguing with someone who lives in his own world. Peace mate. I shared my experience. I didn't fire a bullet in the air.

Umm

All shock absorbers are oil filled, the “gas” you notice is 15 psi nitrogen gas to prevent the oil aerating/foaming in there as its forced through the orifice valve.

Agriauto makes the same items but with a different orifice valve on the same kind of working piston. (This is why they are called taxi/rough spec)

Did you think that “gas walay shaack” have no oil?

you can get them from plazza at nasir autos or any other shop. Just make sure you check and see if it is genuine and not an old shock repainted and given as new. Even when getting it fitted only get it done by a reliable and sane mechanic.

The old shocks were completely finished, oil had leaked and you could feel every bump with a loud thud. I was tempted to save half the money and go for KYB.

We were in the phase of restoring our honda city due to insane car prices and it being a very reliable daily runner. From the engine swap to transmission overhaul , interior upholstery and exterior denting and paint job. So we thought why cheap out and ruin the entire purpose of making the car like new.

Having the ownership of corolla in Pakistan, the issue of parts is not that much. I had one shock making sounds after it was driven into a deep pothole. I had many options available like KYB etc. ( I was very tempted though). Then I discussed it with dealership and it was very expensive as they were selling it in pairs. Anyhow the foreman at 3s told me in secret that most of the government pool cars are corollas and their drivers come here for replacement of shocks and what they do is that after changing on papers they drive the car with old shocks which are also not bad but just for sake of procurement they change it and then they want to sell the newly procured shocks. I asked the price and overjoyed to know the price which was even less than the scrapyard used shocks. I Immediately took the deal and my shock was replaced with a brand new part. This was back in 2015. Nowadays I checked with foreman and he was of the view that in this government the practice has been minimized a lot and now you have to wait to get lucky like that.

My corolla remains parked mostly and driven on highway only. the ride got very bumpy after hitting 100k on odo and I thought that shocks are goner. I discussed it with dealership and they were of the view that shocks are fine but the tires have deformed so I changed tires. Ride quality improved but still it was not like once the car was brand new. I went to the dealership again and they checked in detail and on the modern balancing machine they detected that the rims are bent which are though not visible to naked eye but the machine reading were not fine. I had yokhoma DB earlier which used to get punctured off and an and for removal the puncture shop ppl bent the rims through that tire removal tool. According to them this slight bending produce a pronounced effect on ride quality. Thanks to PW community I got connected with PWer who owns a tire shop and he informed me that a guy changed his steelies of latest model corolla to alloys and come get them. I got the steel rims of the new corolla and ride quality was improved a lot. Car is 2010 model and now 130k driven and its still on factory suspension with only one shock changed. Alhumdolellah ride quality is good.
