The easiest way to do it is to try for 2-3 days so you get an average. Each driving route, habits and traffic scenario is different. Sportage shows data for each trip so change the mode and you will know.
I have almost always driven on Eco on my AWD and it gives around 7-8 in Karachi overall. On a single morning school trip (Hill Park to DHA) sometimes the average comes up to 11-12 because of rather empty roads.
On the trips to Lahore and Islamabad, it stayed in the range of 11-13 (120-125 km/h cruise).

Is eco mode better for city driving or normal? My usual route has moderate to heavy traffic when going to office and back - Johar to Clifton. I normally get a little above 8km/l because of the traffic on normal driving mode. Haven't really tried eco in traffic.FWD 2020

I have somehow strangely found Normal mode more economical than Eco mode. It's better to control the throttle as per your liking in Normal mode somehow

Maybe you've got a heavy foot, but if you drive normally with a light foot and no sudden acceleration and braking, I tried both Normal and Eco mode and in my experience, Eco mode gives you around 1-1.5 kmpl better fuel average than Normal mode and the difference is noticeable.

Sportage owners, how expensive is the maintenance cost for these cars? I'm considering the Corolla Grande, but I'd really like to go with a crossover SUV (the Alpha is an attractive option). Is the maintenance cost for the Sportage significantly higher than that for the Corolla (or the Civic)?

I don't know about Corolla or Civic, but yes it's very expensive to maintain it. I'll just give you one example, you can do the maths yourself

You missed my point bro. In Eco mode car feels heavy and sluggish so one tends to press the pedal more to move it, even very slowly. In normal mode, pedal is lighter and with a careful foot one can get good average.. Just a personal experience though

Bro, I got your point. That's why I said that if you got a heavy foot, then definitely when you press the pedal harder, it will feel sluggish and takes time to come in momentum and as a result, consumes more fuel when you have to press the pedal even more. Yes, in that case, it's better to use Normal Mode.
However, with a lighter foot. you won't feel that much sluggishness and it will pick up smoothly with an overall better fuel average.
I was actually talking about comparing both modes with the same driving habit (lighter foot in my case), that in such a case, Eco mode will give you a much better fuel average.
I hope that I made myself clear now.

It certainly gives a clear improvement in response and pick.

That’s very unfortunate. I was really leaning towards the Sportage Alpha, but the potentially high cost of maintenance is definitely a concern.

My family tends to keep cars for at least 10-12 years, so the Corolla Grande might be the better choice I think.

I got it checked from KIA dealer and surprisingly, while checking there and placing hand near the duct, the air flow was normal.

So, what the representative guided is that due to climate control, vent usually controls the air flow and hence what i experienced previously was due to the fact that car temperature was good enuf to limit air flow to minimum.

Nevertheless, my personal observation is that the angle and duct position is such that it is not properly directed towards feet and hence we as driver doesn't feel the air flow.

Atleast, mentally i am satisfied now that there is duct and that it is working fine (not choked)

You may also check this personally by setting air flow to max, setting air flow position to feet and observe by placing hand. Hope this helps and work

Hey guys I did a round trip of entire north, from lhr>naran>jaglot>skardu>deosai>chillam>kargil>minimerg>astore>murree>lhr.

I had amazing experience on it. I did not post here due to floods and all.

Anyways today when I tried to go out on Kia it did don't even unlock doors, I had to use the key to open its door and then checked the battery was dead. It was parked for 4 days and battery died.

Does anyone else this experience. I had to call a electrician to jump start it. Now it's fine. But should I get its battery changed? Or should I take it to showroom.
