Not just Civic, all sedans will have hard time in Pakistan just like it happened in rest of the world. It's not because they are bad. It's due to common man's perspective, which I believe is due to limited thinking or automotive knowledge.
The majority thinks they can buy an SUV (which in fact is a crossover) for the price of a sedan. This suddenly starts looking more value for money because it looks big, the driver seems to sit high which gives a feeling of pride, and it has become a sign of status symbol. Other than that, there's no logic for buying crossover for a common man.
Here's why I don't like crossovers.
1) The interior space of crossover is just an illusion. The sedan looks more practical to me due to its trunk.
2) Sedans have better acceleration even with smaller engines.
3) Sedan have better fuel economy.
4) Sedan's high speed stability and handling is much better than crossover. You can never match the aerodynamics of a box with an oval shape.
5) Maintenance of sedans is usually cheaper than crossovers.
