Honda City 2011 Acceleration Problem! Help!

This lagging is almost ignorable on CNG as I am running my CITY 2010 on cng for like more then 8 months now. Current reading on the ODO is 37000km and I installed CNG at 8000km.

ON CNG you wont even feel any knocking which you does feel on petrol and as far as pick is concerned, on CNG the pick is same as petrol. I do feel this lag on petrol but on CNG, I dont feel any.

Technically how is this possible.. liquid petrol is supposed to be superiod to gaseous CNG... !!!

No, the liquid petrol we have in Pakistan contains a lot of impurities, which CNG doesn't have. Secondly the octane number of CNG is even higher than high octane petrol.

Ok... i didnt know that... i thought that liquid was superior to gas in terms of combustion... but that is not the issue...

and then it needs to be found out that how come corolla runs smoothly on second and third gear with the same impure petrol while City cant?

Corolla is heavier than city... where else can city go wrong?

Although engine displacement is same but Honda City engine is capable of producing 100 hp while Totoya Corolla Xli/Gli produces 84 hp from its 1300cc engine. More power from smaller engine requires fuel to be good and pure. Secondly Honda City's engine is Euro 4 compliant.

WOW - so you are saying that in the 80s the turbo formula 1 qualifying engines that were 1.5 litres pushing out 800 to 1000 hp were running on out of this world petrol?

remember that hp is not the end of the game, its the torque that you need to get the horses moving.. e.g. the old Honda B16 - 160 hp and whatever torque it had was at 6800 or 7000 rpm (yikes) not good, meaning to be in the sweet range on every gearchange I should somehow keep it at 6800 rpm (not quite possible in normal lives)

I was talking about naturally aspired engines. I know turbo charged engines produce more power. And yes torque is also very important factor. You can not drive the car at high RPMs always.

I think honda city has low torque in small gears which results in lacking of power and knocking.

petrol cars generally have low torque in low rpms...
if ur looking for decent torque for small petrol engines, look above 3000 RPM
yeah..diesels are all torquey from 1500 rom and above, sometimes even lesser

Guys i am facing problem with my 2006 idsi while pushing it up on parking ramps or high speed breakers. It takes a alot of power to push. Usually car seems to be dead on high ramps and speed breakers. I replaced ignition coils, serviced the throttle, use high octane with fuel cleaning liquid but the problems remains tha same.

Please suggest

HONDA produce excellent but sensitive cars. I had Honda city 1.3 in 2010 and now Honda City Aspire 1.5 2016 , I faced same knocking and loosing acceleration issues specially in 2nd Gear .

Honda City 1.5 has less of these issues.

I fixed 90% of these issues by using MOBIL 1 0W40 EXTENDED LIFE & HI-OCTANE ( PSO ). Indescribable difference !

I have the same issue with my HONDA CITY 1.3 manual 2013 model I just cleaned my throttle body and then make the throttle body relearn by Launch scanner using OBD2 port and now the RPM issue is resolved. Same your case I had faced and I was very worried it but now I make it work out
