hehe. thats a copy of my story. lol. my turbod civic used to break motor mounts in just 2 days. i tried different types of motor mounts like 3 times. then i finally went out and got 3 used ones and filled em exactly like that, in the link, with silicone. since then, no more broken motor mounts for me. enjoy

all this thread shows is a bunch of mounts with the "gaps" filled with what we call black silicone caulking which offer s bit more support to the mounts (common sense idea, but it makes the mounts stiffer)

As for the urethane bushes,... yes it can be done, but it'd take a bit of research into making/finding the ideal mix for our conditions. all you'd need is to make a die and then pour the urethane and let it cure.

I'll be looking into this when my beetle is done, will pass on whatever i find out to you as well.

i was being sarcastic, because it makes the mounts a little too ahrd (if you do all of them) and defeats the purpose of having rubber mounts, but i guess it is a possible good idea and a quick fix for our "vibrating" engines,.. like cars with a 2L or 2C conversion

Here is another link. It does work. This solution is practiced on a lot of cars to counter "wheel hop". It does however increase the vibration in the cabin I suppose.

I searched google and found a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, the Charade soild mount DIY link is no longer valid.
