For Wingle to operate, the user must have a USB power source like a Laptop or any external USB power source. Sir ji. They are same. You will be able to get a decent speed only if there is a REV-B coverage in your area.
In simple words. PTCL i s making everyone ullu in the name of 3g. You live in Islamabad. Why don't you get a wired nayatel connection? I have it at my workplace it is awesome. If wireless is a compulsion, then go for wi-tribe 2mbps package.

where i'm living wired is not an option .. my requirement is a lots of download i,e bluray movies .. wi-tribe/wateen/quebee donot have download limits above 40-50gb .. the only option left is ptcl with 100gb per month .. if there is any other service offering more gbs in wireless pkg let me know

i've got this wingle device for a day to test here are the results so far :

-- signal strength while attached to my laptop (haven't tried other places in the house ) == 3 out of 5
-- speed test results = ping 125 - 150, download around 0.9 mb upload around 0.4 mb
-- torrent speed = fluctuating from 11kbps to 25 kbps (its a weekend so i guess it will increase around 50% later)
-- surfing is ok .. websites are opening in fair speed
-- streaming videos = no not exactly but not much of a delay either

so what do i do next .. try improving signals and test again ?
are there any secret settings to improve the torrent speed which is pathetic (torrent optimization has already been done)????

or this is it .. since this doesn't serve the purpose .. i need good speed for torrent download

EVO and EVO Nitro both suck!! The difference between them is that EVO runs on EV-DO Rev A (max speed 3.1 mbps) and EVO Nitro runs on EV-DO Rev B (max speed 9.3 mbps) but in reality they hardly go above 1 mbps!!! Stupid PTCL!! :S

and EVO Nitro Cloud is the same thing as EVO Nitro but this device can support upto 5 Wi Fi devices as well.

after the evo wingle test .. i've decided not to buy it .. at least till they take measures to give it a steady speed

MY CONCLUSION .. FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BUY AN EVO

-- IT HAS MAX DOWNLOAD CAPACITY IN WIRELESS CATEGORY AND THAT IS THE ONLY POSITIVE
-- SPEEDS FLUCTUATE EVEN EVERY FEW SECONDS .. WHATEVER MAX SPEED YOU R GETTING DIVIDE IT BY 2 AND THAT IS THE ACTUAL AVERAGE SPEED OF EVO
-- SIGNAL STRENGHT IS 2 OR MORE REQUIRED TO GET MAX SPEED
-- FOR NORMAL SURFING AND MOBILITY IT IS GOOD BUT FOR HEAVY DOWNLOADS IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED

the speed and signal depend on your location. If you live in an area away from their transceiver, the signal will be low and speed will be low. But if you live close to it and get full signal but low speed that means the area has too any users...

so as a general rule you'll always get low speed in areas where land line internet is not available, this is because everyone in that area is obviously using wireless.

so wireless internet is good if you live in an area with land line internet available.

Use a Landline broadband. DO NOT go for wireless. I bought a wingle 2 days ago and download speed never reaches even 0.4 Mbps. It doesn't open pages and if it does, it says "web page not available" after some time. It goes on showing me those stupid "Oops", "try reloading" and "redirecting" messages all day long. Even my mobile service gives a better internet through bluetooth on my laptop than this. Depends on your location though, ask a representative to accompany you for service-check before you depart from your cash, inquire from neighbourhood about wingle's performance before you buy.

any one faced issue of wifi disconnection?

my wingle wifi works for about a minute and then the signal disappers.. the web page shows one device connected but no device is actually connected.

i just recently bought it. and my package is not activated.

If 3g connection fails. Wifi turns off automatically.

oh shukar hai... i did not want to go through that warranty process...

how to activate the package?

i didnt get the usb from ptcl.. rather it was through another person who had bought a stock of the usb devices probably when ptcl launched the ramazan package.

after device installation within 6 hours i got the soft sms on modem that 1500rs had been debited to my account.

but the device still said connection failed.

i called ptcl 1218 they say package was not activated and my account did have 1500rs in it..

what to do?

@Naweed sir i had a very bad experience with wingle..I live in pindi and ptcl had and offer on eid i think the eid package with wingle @1250 rs/month UL downloads..It was a very tempting offer,went with it paid 4250 rs and happily instaled the usb stick in my lapy..then nightmare began got down speeds of 25 KB/s only i was shocked..Went back to ptcl oss to return and had to digest loss of 1250 Rs :(..The oss supervisor himself claimed about 50% of the devices were being returned..

Thus for people interested in wingle or nitro.I would highly recommend asking out your neighbors if som1 is using it(try theirs) and lf the coverage area..Buying wingle/nitro is a gamble..

The area must have superb signals otherwise you are duped..

I have used wateen,qubee and witribe even wingle and PTCL had the shitiest performance..

I am on 1mbps wateen atm but never experienced and downtime and am a satisfied user.They have the best customer service imo..

I value CS>performance

I am a very satisfied customer. Downloading speeds range from 500-700kbps mostly and 900kbps-1mb late night. Have azadi package on it. It depends on your area. In my area i get these speeds while in my friends hostel it max go to 110kbps. The only letdown is you have to go to OSS to pay bill as it is postpaid and cant be recharged through uload

PTCL ka ek hi hisaab hai. Chal gae tou zabardast na chalay tou phir warh gae. Before wingle i had qubee 1mbps connection for 2 years and I never called them a single time. Their service was excellent.
