Civic 2005 Timing Belt

i have city 13 model, does it have timing belt or timing chain? In owners manual it says drive belt
And whats the change interval?
If there is timing chain,does it require replacement?

Is the coolant for civic 05 supposed to be honda genuine Type1 or Type2?

Type 2 is better than Type 1. It's longer lasting and better formulated.

Now since my car (Civic VTi 2005) has crossed 40K kms according to the manual its time to change fuel filter.
I went to a shop and bought the cylindrical fuel filter.

However, when I went to 2 mechanics they couldnt find this part near the rear left tyre where it is supposedly located, even I went down under and couldnt find any sign of it. And one of them told me that in my model civic it doesnt come in this form. Supposedly this type fuel filter only comes till 2003 civic.

I did some research and found that this filter is supposedly the right one for my year model of civic. Before I buy it, I just wanted to confrim with other Civic 2004-2005 owners whether this is the correct one, as it seems like the correct one to me and my mechanic

Yes, the filter is located inside the fuel tank. Get new genuine part only.

@Xulfiqar: By tensioner you mean the belt bearing or the complete assembly ?
Why do we need to replace pump if its old (lets say 20 years) at the time of belt change , as its an expensive item?

Also which Non-OEM brand do you recommend for belts and bearing for honda civic 2005 as Honda 3S prices are outrageous keeping in view it a 20 year old car

By tensioner I mean the whole unit with spring. And its always best practice to fully “redo” any parts that are torn down for service. Meaning if you take out the timing cover you are to replace the belt, idler, tensioner, oil seals and water pump too (specially in Pakistan as it must have been run on water only)

Relying on 20 yr old water pump and waiting for it to breakdown is false economy as you will have to pay a big labour bill again (equal to this timing job)
