Im someone who does swaps by hand myself - I dont hire mechanics/denters etc. Everything I do it by myself, and seeing H22 engines in charades etc was laughable, it takes exactly 3 hours to bolt an H22 into a charade G100 shell with air-tools, welder and a powersaw.
And another 3 hours to cut the axles to match. RESULT - a car that is impossible to DRIVE, Its not that who can shove what engine into a bay, its about can you handle the headaches of reliability.. thats all.
You can have many people here vouching for every ustaad on the market but its more than just ustaad works.
anyways for the recommendation
Take a mechanic with you if you are not experienced with the market. You can opt for a smallish toyota replacement like the 1SZ from a vitz or a 4E toyota both will require cutting of chassis legs weakening the front. You can also look for a cultus 1.0 3 cyl - its quite short and packs into a narrow space.
When you pick out an engine - make sure that you can machine/make some axles that will survive in proper balance for more than 5 years.
I have restored quite a number of G100 charades and a few G11 - on nearly every engine O/H the engine had been rebuilt by a monkey earlier in life.
