It is believed that non of the local mechanics have ever tried to botch your car AC.
Now, If the system's running pressure values are in acceptable range (not too high, nor too low) then its a clear indication that the compressor is doing its job quite well.
Not necessarily, but AC gas do escape very slowly through multiple weak points of the system like the schrader valves (service ports), O-rings seals etc, so topping up the refrigerant isn't a bad idea, however you need to measure exactly the pressures in relation with ambient temperature conditions.
You may share here both system's static (before operating the car AC) and running pressure values along with ambient temperature reading for analysis.
Changing system parts is highly inadvisable, before doing anything major it is suggested that to clean the condenser unit thoroughly (externally), however care must be taken not to damage/bent the fins. Also check the condenser fan, it should be rotating at optimum speed, for comparison check the fan of some other passo.
