My car was also producing the same sound ppl were mentioning baove noticed it from a week and the belt broke about an hour ago while moving
So the sound is from adjuster bearing?

I am planning to buy 8th generation civic 1.8 oriel prosmetic... between 2008 and 2012...My budget is 13 to 13.5 lakhs,,, Can i get a decent well maintained 8th generation full option civic in this range ??
Plus i want to ask what should i check mainly in buying one ? Body seals ? Engine ? Suspension ? Most people are asking about CAT,, that local mistris remove CAT when it gets chocked....So how can i check it?
I have read here that most people add spacers to suspension for road clearance which ruin its comfort...so how can i check it ? Can meter tempering be checked ?Either Airbags are intact...can it be checked ?
I don't know much so kindly guide me, looking forwards for your valuable suggestions about the questions i have asked plus anything extra which i don't know...
8Th generation users please guide me and who has an experience of buying used cars...
i have no hurry,,,can wait for days and month but to get a decent car..

You can get 9 model total genuine less driven car in this budget..abt cat con the voice of the car gets changed....suspension can easy be seen for spacers by the rear height of the car you will get the idea yourself by looking...abt airbags one way is that u can see for crack in dashboard on pessenger side...the other way is the car should have airbag light in the meter on when car isnt started which will go away after starting...if it stays on after starting there will be some fault can be with sensor or maybe airbags are not present

My last question about meter tempering..i heard people temper it mostly...how can i get genuine mileage,,,? Can it be checked? Anyother way to confirm other than service history...

I also heard about takata airbags problem which the car manufacturers start recalling their customers for getting it fixed...and the 8th generation honda civic in pakistan also comes in that category which honda atlas recalled their customers in march 2017...

Anyone knows about this problem?? Or anyone having 8th generation civic got it fixed in airbag recall???

Yes! I got mines changed from Honda. They replaced both units free of charge.

i am going to buy one thats why want to know about airbag malfunctioning issue....

Youre right. They changed both the detonators.
I am not sure if you can drive in to a Honda dealership and get them changed now.
They noted my cars Chassis number so its likely that if the owner has got them changed it should show up in the system.

From where can i verify ...if i am buying a car so from where should i verify that it's airbags has been changed or not....???

Honda dealership. The best thing would be to take the car there and get it verified.

and one thing more if airbags are deployed in a car so is it must to add new airbags through dealership ? or can you drive it without airbag???
i am asking this because i am curious about this....i don't want to buy a car having airbags deployed...

Ideally it is mandatory to get this issue checked.
I dont think they are going to entertain a car that has its airbags deployed. The reason for this is that they did not change the whole unit. Its just the detonator that needs to be replaced. They take away the older detonator.

No i am not asking about airbag recall....just asking agar aik car accident krte hai or airbags deploy hoty hai tou lazmi hai k new airbags fit karaye ?ya osky baghair b car chal skte hai having no airbags ????

You can drive it. Alot of people are driving their japanese dinkies without airbags.
How to check?
1) Look for signs of a major accident, signs of repair. This can be tricky. Better take an experienced denter with you. But in my experience denters know nothing.
2) look for signs of repair on the dashboard/ steering wheel.
3) turn on the ignition the Airbag sign will light up for a few seconds and then it should go away. If it doesnt light up or stays on there could be something fishy.

Last you can never be 100% sure. And sadly in this country you will have to go through these doubts when buying a used car. But the above three points are the best you can do.

And if i take it to dealership i think they can also tell me about presence of airbags
