At a glance, I will say don’t buy.
Unfortunately, we don’t have many options available in our local market. Especially if you are looking for a brand-new car (hatchback), warranty, availability of mechanics, nationwide workshop network, availability of spare parts, etc.
At least Swift is better than other locally assembled Suzuki hatchbacks, KIA Picanto or United Bravo. Shape and features-wise, Swift looks more modern than Alto, WagonR, Cultus, etc. KIA and United hatchbacks come nowhere near Swift.
Imported JDM cars aren’t available at sane prices. Finding spares and mechanics for them is another quest.
Swift has better fuel economy and engine power than WagonR or Cultus. However, kids complain about the comfort of rare seats of Swift and rate WagonR or Cultus better. The same vendor is making seats for the locally assembled product lineup of Suzuki, Honda, and Toyota.
However, there are some built-quality issues. The interior has very inferior quality plastic. The paint quality of Swift is awful - ranging from orange peel, air bubbles, human hair, dust particles, etc.
I can keep writing a lot of negative about Suzuki or Swift. But that isn’t going to help!
There aren’t many or any alternatives in the local market.
In the end, I can only suggest you buy Swift GL CVT over Swift GL MT – if you can extend your budget.
