Nice review, I own this car myself and the only issue I am facing is about its informative system. The radio antenna cable is about to replace in warranty and the back camera quality is pathetic. When you put your car in reverse gear, the picture quality is very poor and you can see horizontal lines on the screen. Today I talked to dealership about this serious issue. Lets see how much they can help in this regards. further when you use google maps navigation the system gradually start responding slow and eventually its gave message that maps are not responding and application need to be closed. This happened to me many times and it seems to happened due to slow system hardware. I don't know how this can get fixed.

Good Review, Detailed and Well reasoned, Made me feel that i make the right choice by going with TOYOTA this time, Although i am a huge HONDA admirer and always kept Honda since 2006 when i bought my first car. And also i was itching to get new Civic since the time it was launched in '16, My bro in law got one last year and i got to drive it driving it was a pleasure and delight as always but INTERIOR quality is below par this time it doesn't give premium feel not as polished refined as CIVIC used to be and that to me was the only point why i went for Grande this time because when i sat in the car it gave me good feeling interior is well looked after gives you premium feel its not busy, to the point and refine which you expect from HONDA but no to be this time around....I don't know much about Toyota drive as none of my friend or family has it so i get to experience it in DEC when i get my hands on my Grande, lets hope it's as good as it's interior....

But i know one thing for the fact that i will get back to CIVIC sooner or later may be when they launch a face lift or may opt for little changes in interior. LETS ENJOY GRANDE TILL THEN....

Paid article. Totally biased. I have owned both 2015 grande and now 2017 civic. These cars are not even comparable, except the fact that grande is a lil guicker thn civic, civic outclasses grande in every aspect, may it be drive, comfort, braking or looks.

People often attribute comfort with corolla interestingly you expressed civic is more comfortable, civic x became hit in Pakistan for its over stylized looks only. Civic doesn't carry the prestige that used to be associated with it being professionals/executives car. (Now that market segment moved to premium brands)

In my humble opinion it's just matter of personal preference, grande does have better engine and this facelift was designed to match features of civic.

When it comes to 1.8 category unfortunately we don't have much options thus the age old war of fanboys.

Dear it is not worthy at all. Actually three stake holders of car industry of Pakistan dont allow any one to come and compete in country. There is no worth universally of these cars. Changing only the front grill or lights only appeals our general population who actually dont know what there should be now a days in a sedan car.

It nor fare with this nation at all to make the people fool gainst 2.4 million rupees without any competition.

Please lets other international brands come and let them work, or let the people have easy access to vehicles elder then five years. Can this corolla compete with fielder of 5 years old model. Can this corolla compete with small aqua of 3 years old model. The answer is no never. So please facilitate the people for ease and better.

Yeah it is a sad situation overall........and to top it off the gli costing 19 lac rupees is a discontinued car all over the world......but it is sold only in pakistan for i dont know what reason......only south africa still has the 1.3 version but they are giving a much more powerful 100hp 1nz engine in their 1.3 compared to the underpowered 84hp 2nz toyota indus is giving us.....so overall very sad situation.....

What is the tax and duties structure in South Africa? Must have seen invoices of new car and how much of the price is actually GST, the duties they pay for imports also become part of the cost end consumer bears. Point being don't just blame the car makers, state is equally at blame. They don't realize cars are a need but consider them a luxury thus skinning the people as much as they can.

Ishaq Dar in previous budget classified baby formula milk in "luxury" category and taxed its import, if I m not wrong it was by 35%.

First of all, I am not defending any brand and Yup I am a big fan of Honda.
To amir bhai, It is highly rumored that Indus Motor is closing their 1300cc variants of Corolla by december 2017, means it would not be booked in January 2018. Only 1.6L and 1.8L would be available, as told by Toyota Eastern and other franchises (though their highest sales car is XLi and GLi).

I am sorry to tell, but this Review missed so many additional features of Toyota Grande Facelift like Auto Retractable Mirrors, Smart Trunk, Smart Door, Leather Interior, Auto Reverse Link Mirror any many other small new features

Many compare Grande with XLi saying it only has a Sunroof and nothing, but when I visited Toyota Showroom to buy 1.6 Altis, I compared Altis 1.6 (far upgraded than XLi) to Grande, in Altis 1.6, I got no cruise control, no Leather Interior, No Climate Control, No Reverse Auto Link Mirrors, no Auto Retractable side Mirrors, 4-Speed Auto transmission etc.
Then I see Grande, and find out (which I think no one has yet, even the reviewer I think) ALTIS GRANDE -for the first time ever- has Different Head Lights from all Corolla Variants, so first no comparison on Shape/Design. It has PUSH START, Auto Leveler Projection LED headlights, Leather Interior with Leather Seats, 9" android display with car warnings, Cruise control, Paddle shifter, 7-Speed Transmission CVTi, Sunroof, Auto Reverse Link Mirror, Auto Retractable Mirrors, Front Camera and so many other features.
Sorry to mention, I asked Toyota Showroom for the navigation screen only, to whom they replied Rs. 90,000 to me. So I detail researched it and Go for Grande than Altis 1.6 with a Price Gap of 4 Lacs. It really worth it. I think, for the first time, Indus Motor has offered a Good family car, although it's very expensive but worth it.

And For all Honda Lovers, I know Honda is superior and Luxury car, but for many Corolla is Durable and Long Lasting car

Aoa friends...i need an advice..preferably from someone who has driven both civic and facelifted grande..
I am stuck while deciding between these 2 vehicles..as to which one to buy. Recently someone told me that civic s drive is not that good in terms of pickup and it takes some time to accelerate..something u dont expect from a brand new car..and also that the seats are not very ergonomically designed particularly for long hours of travelling.
My preference would always be a smooth and good drive with good back comfort..(i currently own toyota belta..the drive is great..comfort just reasonable..long route motorway rides of 4 hrs or so )what should my choice be?

Your first observation / feedback regarding pickup and acceleration is true but the other one that is seat comfort is not true.....
As being a highly satisfied Turbo civic owner, neutrally i would advise you to go for grande if have to opt between these two 1.8s as i have kept Grande 2016 for some brief period of time and you won't regret your buy inshallah....

driving pleasure difference is same as between city and civic. the interior looks same but the ride quality and comfort are way different.

Salam. nice review of the car. i wanted to know if you are using any safety lock like brake pedal lock. it would be nice if you can upload pics here and let me know from where you got it. i want one as i am getting automatic corolla. the one i was using is of rescue 15 which i guess cannot be used on automatic car as there is no clutch pedal.

Also what about its immobilizer reliability ? i heard from a friend that his cousins brand new grande got stolen which had factory installed immobilizer. This brings doubt in mind about Toyota's immobilizer reliability.
