Porting a k24a head is cheaper n/a setup then k20/24. People here are also not in porting at all.

Watched all of your videos ! very informative .

I am in the planning phase of swapping a k24 in an 8th Gen Sedan. I intended to keep it as daily driven as possible. Can i use the stock ECU ? I don`t intend to go after big numbers, just an CAI and Exhaust would suffice for me

If you want to use stock k24 ecu then you need de-immobilizer or the same car ignition switch with immobilizer module from which ecu is taken out.

Look,the best way is single ecu method for a daily driven car.but u will have to xhoose a k series ecu.your 8th gen ecu wont run a k series engine well.
Look if u are looking for low numbers,there are bolt on turbo ebay/aliexpress kits.they are cheap.just 8 psi will put you easy 220 hp and lot more torque than a k-series because of turbo.
Although i have almost everything you will need to swap a k series into a n 8th gen but again you are better with turbo

Swap a K24a, get a Kpro and get it tuned. A good tune will help gain over 20-30hp which is good enough for a daily driven car.
Also, you'll need to remove the immobilizer on the stock ECU

Thats my plan in the longer run. I.e getting a K-pro or a Hondata. But due to budget constraints ill be running the car a while on the stock ECU ! (these after market EMUs cost an arm and leg )

I did thought about going through the Turbo route. I have a very good friend who is amongst the best Tuners in the country. I can get a turbo kit made locally as well , not an issue. But with this route , ill have to get an Emu as well and reliability with a turbo`ed car is often questionable. I had a built D16z6 turbo eg civic a few years back , so i am not exactly new, the only change is i am married now with kids. So spending all day at workshops trouble shooting / researching things would be a bit difficult !

Mad Props to you on doing all the stuff on your own DIY style !

The engine + kpro will set you back ~3 lakhs. The swap is another story, all in all you would be spending around 4 lakh on the whole swap. I say get the engine first, keep it with you of you have storage space. Then swap once you get the kpro.

You can also turbo your stock R18, have been done in KHI before, guy daily'd it reliably for a couple years until the wastegate decided to crap out (Chinese stuff).

June 2020 I got a quote of 5.25 lacs for a K24A swap in 8th gen Civic. Included new mounts, brackets, axles, k20a intermediate shaft, upgraded radiator as well.

Hey ! Thanks so much everyone for the detailed replies.

These days the market is flooded with K engine at Shershah (the local market here). K24A ranges anywhere from 130 - 160 or so. Just recently i saw one being swapped in an 88 EF sedan. The guy got the engine for 130k (complete with MT). There was also a K20A sold for 110k (MT). These are just quotations which i have gotten from different people, i have yet to visit shershah myself and talk to a guy i know. But i have been hearing that there are lots of Ks available

K24 that was being swapped in the EF sedan was being charged 70k (including axels etc). Wiring , other mechanical stuff would be charged separately

When i was at the workshop last weekend . I saw at-least 3 cars with K24 swaps

Given the current situation , i am assuming i have to shell out somewhere around 300-350k i guess. Of course going the turbo route would be much cheaper.

No, only type R's and euro R were expensive. Other like k24's and k20's had always being reasonable in market. But now prices are increasing.

The prices being quoted are too cheap. Are you sure they were the Japanese 200hp K24A or were they the 160hp Eco Thai ones? K24A (200hp) with a 6 speed tranny was for around 150-170k last year, there's no way they're cheaper now.

Yeah you are right.k24a3 complete is near 175-200k.
K20a3 near 140k complete.
But depends upon condition.a beaten up blown gasket ones pathans sell in less.the poor customer dont know,and is happy he got deal of century 🤭
