United Motors to Bring “JETOUR” Premium SUVs in Pakistan
After a series of ebbs and flows in terms of economic meltdown, import restrictions, production shutdowns, low sales, and profit volumes, the local car industry seems to be reviving with a bang. This year, we observed several car launches, ranging from Haval Jolion HEV to MG HS 2.0 Turbo. However, in the electric power train, Honri Ve, GiGi Mini EV, and Hyundai IONIQ 6 are the new entrants.
The Details
Discussing the upcoming list, United Motors is gearing up to bring “JETOUR” to Pakistan. Jetour is a marque of Chinese car manufacturer Chery, established in 2018. Jetour mainly produces SUVs and crossovers. Similarly, the company is planning to bring two variants of its crossover SUVs, “Dashing” and “X70 Plus.”
According to the initial information, both of these cars will be locally produced (CKD) and equipped with 1.5 turbo petrol engine. Moreover, the Dashing variant will be a “5-seater” SUV, while the X70 plus has seating space for seven adults (7-seater).
Below are the images of both variants flaunting their exterior style and designing.

United Motors is anticipated to launch these two beauties in Jan 2025. Earlier, the local company has also brought budget hatchbacks like “Bravo” and “Alpha,” which remained unsuccessful in the market, and the reason behind it is zero resale value, low build quality, and non-availability of spare parts. However, when the local car maker has moved toward premium Chinese brand, we hope everything will be fine for it in the near future
Other Upcoming Launches
Other than United Motors, Deepal and BYD are all set to launch their electric variants on August 16 and 17, respectively. Meanwhile, Kia Lucky Motors is also among the list planning the same. Hyundai Elantra 7 Gen Hybrid is also spotted in Pakistan, meaning Hyundai Nishat also has something in the pipeline. The company has also announced that it will participate soon in the league.
Our credible sources have hinted that Lucky Motor Corporation might introduce Kia’s state-of-the-art EV range in 2024, yet speculations are rife about which model could be introduced.

@waqas
Fun fact; the Malaysian brand is also a rebadged Chinese brand. So even more Chinese brands! 😄
@Ali Khan
Real fact DRB Hicom is malaysian as well the CEO of DRB-Hicom
51% of Proton is Malaysian and 49 % of Lotus is Malaysian
@waqas
🤨 Not talking about % of ownership. What I meant was:
The Proton Saga is made by Proton
The Persona/Iriz (Sedan/Hatchback, it is the same car) is made by Proton
The Proton S70 sedan is a rebadged Geely Emgrand
The Proton X50 Crossover is a rebadged Geely Binyue
The Proton X70 Crossover is a rebadged Geely Boyue
The Proton X90 Crossover is a rebadged Geely Haoyue
And Proton just secured the rights to launch a (Proton) rebadged version of the Geely Jiaji MPV in Malaysia.
So most of their lineup is rebadged Chinese vehicles. 👍
Also:
50.1% of Proton is Malaysian owned and 49.9% is owned by Geely China.
49% of Lotus is Malaysian owned but 51% is owned by Geely China.
