In a rather unsurprising move, Pak Suzuki has permanently suspended the booking of its hatchback Wagon R. It is essential to mention that the company stopped booking the top-of-the-line variant for the last few months, and there were rumors that it would be done for the rest of the variants, too, and that day has come.

Announcement on Wagon R Booking

In an official statement to its dealers, the company announced: “Pak Suzuki Motor Co. Ltd has permanently suspended the bookings of Suzuki Wagon R (all variants),” further adding that it is effective immediately from March 11, 2025.

The notification read, “Kindly advise the sales team and prospective customers accordingly. ”

Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan

The hatchback was introduced in Pakistan in 2014 in three variants with the price tags of:

  • VX: Rs. 899,000
  • VXR: Rs. 1,049,000
  • VXL: Rs. 1,089,000

The base variant was later discontinued, and in 2020, it was replaced by a new top-of-the-line AGS variant with an Automated Gear Shift Transmission (AGS), an airbag, and a price of Rs 1,890,000/. The car became mainly popular during the boom of Uber and Careem services in Pakistan in 2016-17 as it became the drivers’ favorite due to its interior space and fuel average. The car became a synonym for Uber/Careem cars in the subcontinent.

New Model Expected?

Usually, the booking suspension of a car means the potential arrival of a new model. To confirm this, we contacted Pak Suzuki, where an official, while answering this vital question, told PakWheels, “Not in the near future, maybe in 2-3 years.”

This means it is the end of the journey for one of the most popular hatchbacks in Pakistan. We think the major reason behind this was low sales for quite a long time. Now, we will wait for the next model of Suzuki Wagon R in Pakistan.
