Photos – Left Hand Drive Suzuki “Mehran” Is in Pakistan
You must have seen the lavish left-hand drive imported cars in the country, but what if we present an old machine dubbed Suzuki Mehran equipped with the left-hand drive?
The History
Named “Maruti Suzuki 800,” the car is a European Model (1992) of Maruti Suzuki Alto manufactured by an Indian company, “Maruti Suzuki.” Mind you; the company is an Indian franchise of International car giant “Suzuki”, which produced this car in India from 1983 to 2014. Produced for 31 years, the car remained the second longest production in India.
Style and Designing
The front facia and side profiles of the car report it as a “Suzuki Mehran,” but the interior and rear profile narrate a different story.
Coming to the Exterior, the build quality of the vehicle surpasses Suzuki Mehran. The front, including side and rear profile highlights, headlight, rear bumper lights, front grill, side mirrors, door handles, and indicators, matches our own “The Boss,” but still, this is Alto GLX – the name displayed on the rear side.
Unlike the Exterior, features inside the cabin take center stage. Two-spoke steering with left-hand drive, two-tone interior, and leather fabric seats add more to the beauty of its interior.
Above all, this 1992 model car is also equipped with an air conditioner (AC) and rear seatbelt, when Pak Suzuki didn’t even think about adding these features to Mehran. What may add to your surprise is that the last model of Mehran, aka “The Boss,” lacks a rear seat belt.
The vehicle is equipped with an 800cc F8B engine (4-speed) carrying the capacity to produce the power of 37 BHP at 5500 rpm with a top speed of 140Kmph. And, it is pertinent to mention that car is not for sale.

Without a doubt, Mehran was and remains a true family vehicle for a middle-income class, low maintenance cost, low maintenance time and above all its compatibility with every kind of terrain that shows up during daily driving is a big complement to its success.
