Today we’re here with the owner’s review of Rana Hamza Saif’s MG HS. RHS is a famous food vlogger who recently bought his 2022 MG HS. It was launched back in 2020, and this particular car is the trophy edition with a new digital instrument cluster. The MG HS comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 160hp and 250Nm of torque paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Purchase Decision
The owner was looking for a crossover, and budget was not the primary criteria. He considered Sportage and Tucson, but he opted for the HS as it had the “wow factor” which other cars failed to provide. The deciding factor was the modern interior with colour options. He booked the vehicle when its invoice was around Rs. 5.4 million, but due to price increase, he ended up paying Rs 6.3 million at delivery.
Salient Features
The MG HS comes with a host of features, including autonomous features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, parking sensors, etc. Other features include a panoramic roof, digital instrument cluster, paddle shifters, ambient lights, dynamic headlights, etc.
Fuel Average
The owner has driven the car within the city and highway, and he gets a fuel average of 9 km/l within the city and 11 to 12 km/l on the highway, which is impressive for this particular car.
Known Issues
The MG HS has some things that seem to annoy the owner, including a long turning radius that causes hindrance in maneuverability. The infotainment screen is not responsive and has a 1 to 2-second lag. Moreover, the autonomous features can be dangerous in our traffic conditions which causes inconvenience.
Spare Parts
Maintaining the MG HS in terms of spare parts is relatively expensive. Spare parts are very costly, and availability is also an issue as the dealership may take some time to source them. The oil change is still due, so the owner is unaware of the routine maintenance cost.
Registration And Insurance
The registration cost of the MG HS is around Rs. 1.5 lacs which can differ with price changes. The owner got his car insured as soon as he got the car as parts prices are very high.
