With an aim to make the travel smoother and full of convenience on motorways, the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Motorway Police have made M-Tag registration mandatory for all vehicles. Effective February 5th, 2024, this move aims to streamline entry and exit processes, ensuring a faster and more efficient flow of traffic.
Previously, M-Tag use was encouraged but not compulsory. However, to further optimize traffic management, all vehicles must now be equipped with this electronic toll collection system. Don’t worry, the process is simple!
Here’s what you need to know:
- Get your M-Tag: Visit a customer care center with your vehicle registration and ID card for verification.
- Stay charged: Top up your M-Tag account conveniently at designated toll plazas.
- Avoid penalties: Ensure your M-Tag is registered before hitting the motorways to avoid fines.
Benefits of M-Tag:
- Faster commutes: No more stopping at toll booths, just seamless electronic toll collection.
- Reduced congestion: Faster entry and exit points mean less traffic build-up.
- Convenience: Top up your account on the go, ensuring a smooth journey.
