Bikes in Pakistan have been the same for as long as we can recall. Same shape, same engine, and everything. For the first time ever, a motorcycle company has introduced something new in Pakistan. Last year, we got our first lineup of electric bikes by Jolta

Keeping our tradition, we have brought you a detailed review of Pakistan’s first electric bike, the Jolta JE-70D. It’s a new product in the market, and people have so many questions about the bike’s power, range, charging, maximum speed, etc. Here are all the answers.

Battery & Charging

The Jolta JE-70D electric bike is powered by a pack of five dry batteries. These batteries deliver 1000 Watts of power. You can charge the bike overnight at home. The batteries consume 1.5 electricity units for a full charge.

The company claims that the batteries are good for 500 cycles of charging. That means the bike has around 1.5 years of battery life. After that, you can get the batteries replaced for around Rs. 3,000 to 4,000, depending on their condition.

Driving Modes

The Jolta eBike has three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. You can switch between the modes with a simple button by the right handle.

Range

The JE-70D bike can travel up to 80 kilometers in Eco Mode, 60 kilometers in Normal Mode, and around 40 kilometers in Sport Mode on a full charge.

Top Speed

The bike has a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour on a plain road.

Spare Parts

The Jolta electric bike looks a lot like a conventional bike, except for the battery storage. The lights, indicators, wheels, mudguard (taapa), shocks, all spare parts are the same as any other bike in Pakistan.

Safety

In case you are wondering if the bike is safe to travel in the rain, yes, it sure is. The bike has water-resistant batteries and a motor. The battery cabin is made of fiber, and there’s a breaker to cut off the electric supply to the motor.

Warranty

Jolta is offering three months of warranty on its electric bikes for its customers.

Price

The Jolta JE-70D has a price tag of Rs. 89,500, which is less than conventional 70cc bikes in Pakistan.
