In a recent first-look review, Suneel Sarfraz Munj introduced the Jetour Dashing, a new C-segment SUV entering the Pakistani market for the first time. Jetour, a Chinese brand owned by Chery, is being launched in Pakistan by United Automobiles.

According to Suneel, Jetour is initially launching two models:

  1. Jetour X70 Plus
  2. Jetour Dashing (featured in this review)

  • Segment: C-segment SUV
  • Engine: 1.5L Turbocharged Engine
  • Performance Figures:
    • Torque: 230 Nm

  • Plastic cladding around the wheel arches enhances its rugged appearance.
  • Plastic panels on the doors blend with the SUV’s aerodynamic design philosophy.
  • Motorized concealed door handles, which pop out when unlocking the car.
  • Keyless entry with a smart Rubik’s cube-style key.

While reviewing the rear side, Suneel noted:

  • The absence of roof rails is a feature commonly seen in SUVs.
  • A chrome strip runs across the side, which expands at the rear quarter glass, giving the SUV a more pronounced look.
  • LED taillights with a checkered flag pattern enhance its sporty appeal.
  • A high-mounted spoiler with an integrated brake lamp.
  • A massive black rear bumper with a diffuser makes the SUV appear more aggressive.

Suneel also pointed out the dynamic LED indicators, which enhance the vehicle’s premium styling.

Spacious Boot with a Powered Tailgate

  • The powered tailgate (autoboot) can be opened with a button.
  • The boot capacity is 450 liters, which can be expanded to 700 liters by folding the rear seats.
  • A spare wheel (donut-style) is placed under the boot, along with a tool kit.

Suneel noted that the trunk space is decent, and while the spare wheel is not full-sized, it provides essential emergency support.

Dashing Interior with Smart Features

When entering the cabin, Suneel immediately noticed the acid green accents throughout the dashboard, stitching, seats, and door panels. He stated that this gives the SUV a sporty and energetic feel.

Suneel described the steering wheel as flat-bottomed with Jetour badging.

For materials, he observed that the dashboard combines soft-touch and hard plastic with a brushed aluminum finish in the center. He also pointed out the red ambient lighting, which runs across the dashboard, enhancing the SUV’s premium feel.

Infotainment System & Driving Modes

Suneel stated that the infotainment system consists of a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, and the instrument cluster provides:

  • Speedometer
  • Fuel level
  • Driving modes
  • Parking sensors
  • Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)

He mentioned that the voice command and assistant feature is accessible to both the driver and passengers, as buttons are available on both the steering wheel and rear seats.

 Will It Succeed in Pakistan?

Suneel Sarfraz Munj concluded that Jetour Dashing offers aggressive styling, modern features, and advanced technology, making it a competitive entry into Pakistan’s SUV market. However, he emphasized that its long-term success will depend on after-sales service, spare parts availability, and warranty support.

He further stated that introducing a car in the market is easy, but maintaining strong after-sales service will play a crucial role in determining its success. While Jetour has been well-received globally, its performance in Pakistan will depend on customer trust and resale value. If United Automobiles ensures a strong service network and reliable support, Jetour Dashing could establish itself as a competitive player in Pakistan’s SUV segment.
