The Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad has introduced an interesting way for you to get your vehicle registered, transferred, and even pay your token tax. A moving vehicle registration centre.
As per the orders of the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Three Excise Office vans are now on the move, stopping at the major avenues in the city throughout the day. Citizens can swing by these moving vehicle registration centres on the road and get their vehicles registered, transferred, and pay their vehicle token taxes within minutes — no visit to the Excise Office, no long queues.
Inaugurating the vehicle registration service on the weekend, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmad, said, “We hope that this new service in the Capital will be an example for the rest of the country. Going to the Excise office to get their vehicles registered is a hassle for everybody in Islamabad and other cities. Our purpose is to make it easier for them by providing doorstep facilities.”
Director Excise and Taxation Islamabad, Bilal Azam, also attended the inauguration of this new service and said that anybody who is out for jogging or shopping can drop by the vehicle registration office to get their vehicle registered, transferred, or pay their token tax on the road. He also added that this new service would facilitate the citizens as well as bring revenue for the government.
