Honda Civic RS 2016 With Extra Turbo – Owner Review
Today’s owner review features the 2016 Honda Civic X RS Turbo with a wholly changed profile compared to the stock model. Hop in as we cruise with the owner and understand his reviews and after-market customizations on the car.
Issues
The Civic X RS Turbo variant portrayed an issue of knocking during its initial period following the launch. The reason was that the Turbo tuned engines were not supported by the fuel available in the market then. Honda then decided to recall the cars and detune them to suit the Pakistani fuel in the market. The owner reveals that he, too, detuned his vehicle.
Price
The stock brand new model cost Rs. 3.2 million to the owner. This cost carried insurance cost with it as well.
Body Modifications
Body modifications comprise a Type-R-inspired kit and rims. The car has also been covered by paint protection film (PPF) to prevent any scratches and swirls on the body.
Engine
Tuned after the upgrade, the engine now offers 280 hp, contrary to the 170 hp company claimed power in stock engines. The owner revealed that he took his car to ECU remap on aggressive tuning to produce 35-38 bhp gains. The owner also installed a catless front pipe, increasing horsepower by 20-25 units.
Moreover, the intercooler has been upgraded to a larger size to support the tuned engine and avoid heat-ups. Straight piping has also been installed throughout the engine to enhance the performance. A cold air intake is also included to lessen engine heating.
Air Suspension
The owner has also installed an air suspension system to dead drop his car as per mood. Recently upgrading to this system, the owner shares that he has felt no issues with the car’s performance. He is satisfied with the comfort level provided by this suspension. This setup cost him Rs. 450,000.
Interior
The car has been detailed significantly from the inside. Customizations include black roof liners, dash cam, hydro-dipped carbon fiber trims, and Alcantara detailing. Moreover, a mobile screen showcases air-intake temperatures, revs counter, speed analog, coolant, and oil temperatures. Another gauge on the dashboard is the air suspension gauge revealing tank, front shocks, and back shocks pressure. Other modifications include pedal shifter covers.
Fuel Average
The owner explained that this car gives him an average above 13 km/l, a surprising statistic for the Civic X Turbo variant. He shares that he gets such an average in economy mode, which allows the engine to work on stock settings.
Maintenance
The owner replaces oil with German oils after every 3000-4000 km, costing him around Rs. 10,000 to 11,000.
