Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a modified Honda Civic 2009. In this review, the owner shares his experience with this particular car and the modification process the car went through to look like this. This particular car is a 2009 Civic oriel prosmatec, also known as the Reborn. It has a 1.8-liter R18 engine producing around 141 hp and 174 nm of torque. The owner has done several cosmetic modifications to this car, making it stand out from every other Reborn on the road.

Exterior Modifications

Right after buying the car, the owner painted it candy red, taking inspiration from Supras. Instead of dropping the car on coil overs, the owner decided to install air suspension through which he could raise and lower his car from his phone. Other than that, the car has 10.5 JJ 18-inch rims installed, of which the rear wheels are negatively cambered. An exhaust is also fitted at the back, along with aftermarket tail lights, carbon fiber trims, an enormous trunk spoiler, aftermarket side mirrors, and much more.

Interior Modifications

Not just the exterior but the interior is also modified by the owner. The whole interior, including the dashboard, door panels, and roof, is blacked out, which was previously beige. Moreover, the seats and fabric parts are stitched in red going with the red and black theme of the whole car. More interior modifications include a red speedometer; carbon fiber dipped interior garnishes, an aftermarket infotainment screen, etc.

Modification Cost

As per the owner, the estimated cost of all modifications landed at about 8 lac rupees, almost 50 percent of the amount he bought the car for. The airmatic suspension contributed the most to this cost, costing him around 4.5 lacs.

Fuel Average

The wheel camber and other mods have led the fuel average to fall significantly. While a stock Reborn is already known to be a gas guzzler, this particular car gives the owner around 5 to 6 km/l within the city at maximum. This fuel average is very bad, considering the car cannot even be driven at high speeds because of the camber. As per the owner,” It is a trade-off between looks and fuel efficiency.”

Practicality

The car’s practicality has been obviously dropped after these mods. The first drawback is ground clearance, part of which is resolved by air suspension, but the car still needs to be maneuvered carefully. Another drawback is that the car cannot be driven above 60-70 km/h due to the cambered wheels. Highway travel is also restricted on this stance, and decambering takes over an hour. Fuel average is also a major point in which this car lacks, but all of these hurdles are managed by the owner for his passion.

Spare Parts And Maintenance

The owner installed and sourced all these aftermarket parts from different cities, and according to him, everything is available in Pakistan, be it genuine parts or aftermarket support. Lights and other trims can also be custom-made, which is very convenient. Maintenance is the same as a standard Civic, as no changes are made to the engine. Normal oil and filter replacement are all that you need for its maintenance.
