ISUZU D-Max – 2nd Generation vs. 3rd Generation – A Comparison
If we’re being honest, the second-generation Isuzu D-Max remained unable to make its mark in Pakistan. Despite being priced over Rs. 1 crore, the car didn’t meet expectations. The interior was outdated, resembling something from the 1990s, with low-quality plastic finishes that didn’t justify its premium price tag. On top of that, it lacked several features that its competitors, like the Toyota Revo, were offering at the time, making it hard to justify the cost for what it delivered.
Now, the third-generation D-Max has hit the market, and it’s a completely different beast. The issues that plagued the second-gen model no longer seem to be a concern. The interior of the new D-Max looks premium and up-to-date, unlike the previous version, which looked like it was designed in the ’80s. It definitely feels like a 2025 model.
Under the hood, the third-gen D-Max is equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine, the largest engine size available in the pickup segment. This gives it an edge in terms of performance compared to other pickups on the market.
While the pricing seems reasonable considering the upgrades, the market is unpredictable, and only time will tell whether the third-generation D-Max will be a hit or follow the same fate as its predecessor.

ISUZU D-Max V-Cross AT 2nd Generation: PKR 12,490,000
