“3rd Gen Toyota Tundra is Way More Comfortable Than Ford Raptor” – Owner Review
Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2022 Toyota Tundra. Toyota launched the 3rd generation Tundra in December 2022 in 2 variants; a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 and a twin-turbo hybrid V6. This particular car is the hybrid variant which produces 437 hp and a whopping 790 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 10-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. The owner shares his experience with this full-size pickup truck in this review and briefs us about its specs and features.
Salient Features
As per the owner, Toyota has made major upgrades to the Tundra by adding a lot of quirks and features. Starting off with the interior, the main highlight is the 14-inch infotainment screen which looks massive; the dash is a combination of white upholstery, wooden panels, and aluminum trims. It also gets luxury features like a heads up display, a panoramic roof, an 18-speaker JBL sound system, plush leather electric seats, wireless charging, multi-zone climate control, adaptive suspension, ventilated seats, etc. safety features include lane assist, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, 360-degree view, etc.
Fuel Average
The owner has not specifically calculated the fuel average but thinks it is similar to a Lexus LX570. According to him, on the highway, it gives close to 5 km/l and is not far off from the city. Although being a hybrid, the fuel average is not dramatically high from the previous generation.
Comfort
Tundra is a full-size pickup truck that has loads of room in the cabin. The leg space is phenomenal for front and rear passengers, and the comfort has increased significantly. As per the owner, when searching for a pickup truck, he found the Tundra to be the most comfortable among competitors. The seats are very well cushioned, and the massive cabin size easily allows five passengers to travel comfortably.
Drive
The Tundra previously featured a 5.7 liter V8 engine, whereas with this generation, displacement has been reduced to 3.4 liters and six cylinders but with the addition of two turbochargers. As per the owner, the acceleration has improved significantly despite the decrease in displacement. The turbochargers and the hybrid battery have increased the power figures from 381 hp in the previous Tundra to 437 hp in this model, making this a lot quicker.
Comparison With Ford Raptor
The owner also owns the latest generation of the Ford Raptor, so comparing the two is ideal for him. In his opinion, if you want to travel with your family on long routes, then Tundra is far superior as its comfort level is top-notch. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy the power purely, then Raptor takes the points.
