salam
so i went to see a civic reborn oriel automatic 2009 (asking 2 million...yes! 2 million) in Lahore as I am looking for a used car. The seller on the phone sounded like an educated guy (he said he is doing CA) so i thought this could be a potential deal. The ad read " first owner, original mileage, mint condition".
So when i reached the location which was around 30 kms drive from my home, I saw the car parked inside the porch with driver side right next to the wall (hardly 3 inches between the driver side mirror and the wall). It was around 2 pm and the sun was out.
turns out the car was in the name of the first owner but they had bought it a "few years ago" and did not get it transferred. He told me I could look around the car and off the bat i noticed that the top of the boot was uneven and it felt very heavy while opening. so naturally i asked him what could be the reason to which he gave me a weird expression and said "bhaijan cheez ka pata chalta hai...aesi he hoti hai" .
khair i asked him if he could move the car a little so that i can see the right side of the car as well to which he replied "woh bilkul sahi hai aap andar baith kay dekhain"...now this got on my nerves a little since the car was so close to the wall that it was impossible to inspect the right side. so i asked him again explaining that i need to see the car from the right side so please move it and he said..."bhaijan log time zaya kartay hain gari hilani parti hai ..phir rate acha nahi lagatay..kooft hoti hai..aap pasand karain aur rate ki baat karain agar humay samajh aya tou i will bring it out and app check kar laina.."
i told him that brother i have not come all the way from cantt which is 30 kms from your location just so i can waste my and your time. if you are serious about selling the car then park it in a way that people can fully inspect easily without hassle. he remained adamant that the car is fine from the right side and i have xyz offer so if you are interested then make a better offer first then i will move the car...
after asking him a few more times i cordially wished him best of luck for the sale and left. after a while he called asking ok aap gari check kar lain and test drive bhe lay lain...i told him i am not interested in dealing with him...
i don't know maybe he had been swarmed by dealers and so he got a little agitated but my understanding is that when you are looking to sell a car then you should expect all kinds of people calling and visiting and you just have to stay patient..
khair the search for a reborn is still on...
