Given a choice, I will never choose the e-brake at all. When there is a hand brake, you can choose how strongly you want to apply it.
But the e brake has a fixed level of braking, which I can't depend on.
If you will check the internet, they say in case of a cvt / auto car, when parking on a decline, turn your car handle and fit / sit the tire at the roads side wall, as the parking brake and the e brake cannot or may not be able to handle the car properly. Same in the case of incline, the rear tire should touch the side wall of the road so it does not go backward.
In my HRV there is the e brake , which is not really preferred by me.
I was talking with the manager of hyundai and he has a sportage and his child spilled some water on the e - buttons with the prompt effect that they became inoperational. He spent 360,000 on the buttons and the wiring which had shorted also.
I also don't like the sun roof and I inquired about it and the cost of the Sunroof of Sportage is 560,000 (as it is in 2 pc).
I visit northern areas which are high risk areas regarding falling of stones from the mountains underneath which you are driving. Sun roof is the last item I would prefer in my car.
My total requirement is cruise control and Hill Start Assist (if available).
Unfortunately cruise control is not available in hrv which really becomes a deal breaker with some people who are frequent travelers on the motorway.
The best point is that I found that Hand Brake is available in Sportage Alpha and Tucson Basic Model . Tucson also has cruise control and maybe levelling headlights. So I would much prefer Tucson.
Other than this problem, I haven't found any other problem in it. It is very stable on the motorway at 120 as compared to Brv manual or City 2022-23. The steering is very light and you can see a large part of the bonnet which make the car easier to drive. The pick up is good if you press the accelerator as compared to my old car Honda city 1.2 and it easily goes to 120 on the motorway and maintains this speed easily , seats are good and soft and you don't get tired as compared to brv seats.
The best point is that on pressing the accelerator hard, not much engine noise can be heard which is exactly the opposite of brv which makes a lot of noise. Very little sound from the outside comes inside the car which again is exactly the opposite of brv which is quite noisy. i have spent upwards of 25000 for sound damping of all the doors and the trunk and it has made a noticeable difference in my brv.
