OK Let me make one thing CLEAR.
I am not badmouthing ANYBODY.
All i want is for the organizers to make it clear that there will be no favoritism and it will be an equal opportunity event.
From what I see, they have made the event open to all, including the people who are already racing for different teams in the Karting Chamionship.
Then on top of it they are going to judge they best driver by the Lap times he/she achieves in a 20 mins time frame.
How can one expect a person who has never driven a kart to people who have already driven them for hours. In my opinion there is a flaw in the selection process if success is totally dependent on the lap times achieved in a 20 mins slot. They organizers may be overlooking exceptional talent just for the sake of making there lives easier.
The event should have been spread over a longer time frame for all the participants to get used to the dynamics of handling and driving a kart at the limits or there should be an exception made for those who are not familiar with the kart driving techniques so they have time to get up to speed and experiment with how these machines work.
This is what I think, the organizers may have some other criteria for selection apart from just the best lap times, which may not know about.
Lets see how all this works out.
