Kudos to KIA to reduce prices of Sorento massively, something which is unheard of among local assemblers. Granted, that was done due to disappointing demand, however there are some assemblers in PAMA who prefer to have 0 sales instead of reducing their prices, however unreasonable they are, out of sheer ego. They have the mindset that in Pakistani market people should continue to perceive prices as non-negotiable and something that can only go up. For them, keeping pricing inflexible and never cut down is a long term market strategy and they are prepared to face short term losses on some models as long as the holy cow isn't sacrificed.
KIA not being part of PAMA gives them flexibility to have radical strategies and they also look like they are prepared to admit their mistake and slash down prices where necessary. This step should be appreciated since it's so rare in our market.
