Just completed 33333 KMs. Would like to share with you my impressions over a period of 9 months:
THE BELOW LISTED POINTS ARE IN ADDITON TO MY EARLIER QUICK REVIEW.
I've taken the car on all kinds roads by now. Local, highways, gravel, muddy patches and mountainous areas. Overall, I haven't been let down by anything but there are definitely some improvement areas that I would appreciate.
Pros:
1. The suspension is incredible. It absorbs potholes easily and is not overly stiff. I'd say it's stiffer than a corolla's but less than a civic.
2. Incredible seating comfort. I travel roughly 4k kms per month and some days include travelling for 8-9 hours. Haven't had any discomfort or back pain so far.
3. The Air Conditioning is excellent. Almost always do I need to turn it down. Now that the weather is changing, I generally only use the front screen defogger at 27 degrees for minimal direct air flow.
4. Lighting, puddle lamps, cornering light
5. Cargo space is great. For someone who's constantly travelling, the cargo space available is a life saver.
Cons:
1. The paint quality is average at best. I have countless rock chips on the front end of my car. In comparison, my previous car was a 180k driven Civic Rebirth and it barely had a couple of chipped spots.
2. Infotainment: Since the last 5k kms I've noticed my infotainment screen randomly restarting. Only time will tell if it gets worse.
3. Sunroof rattle: Earlier the rattling went away after lubricating the rubber seals but now it is a constant nuisance.
What's missing:
1. Parking sensors/ BSM
2. Front Camera
3. Android Auto/ Apple Car Play
Aftersales experience:
I bought the car from Hyundai Central Kalma Chowk and have since visited the following dealerships which I will also rank from highest to lowest in terms of satisfaction:
- Hyundai Premium
- Hyundai Jail Rd
- Hyundai Central
- Hyundai Islamabad
- Hyundai Gujranwala
I bought this car in January '23 and if I had to make this choice again, I'd still go with the Tucson!
