Guys, there is a major issue with the Elantra barely showing 822 kilometres on the odometer.
Woke up to fetch some milk. Pushed start and it sounded like a truck with scary rattling and knocking. Had to wait a few mins and then it started fine!
Went to the Faisalabad dealership and their head mechanic was rude and impolite. I never had to face this bullying with any Toyota dealership as they’re well trained, equipped and act like professionals.
Today I found that Nishat's service centers are mostly understaffed (3 techs for whole Faisalabad), micromanaged and their technicians act like they own everything, which in most cases they do since they answer to nobody!
This is my first and last Hyundai, just because of Nishat's bad attitude towards customers and worse after-sale services.
The head mechanic reluctantly attached OBDII sensor on my request and everything was okay. Cold start rattling and battery drainage is likely due to tracker or some other major electronic fault since trackers are common and installed in most cars already.
Turns out this design issue is with Elantra's ignition system itself. If there's a difference of >0.4 volts on a cold morning, it'd start but would rattle and knock.
Exhibit A:
