if we look at history in PKDM sector, Honda City vario ( and steermatic ) was failed by desi mech on the basis of txn.
that was era of CNG and people used to install CNG after getting delivery from showroom.
i remember that it used to be a nightmare for people driving it on CNG, txn swap, converting it into manual etc.
then i remember that even PKDM city adopted AT and there was no more CVT in any PKDM car rolled out!
then suddenly CNG vanished and petrol became only fuel of choice for people.
and then JDM kei started rolling in, coming with AT 3 speed, AT 4 speed, CVT, manual even without gear, and it all got mixed up!!
PKDM demand went down, people started loving their cheap kei cars having amazing fuel consumption with all sort of options.
local assemblers start thinking of ways how to improve fuel consumption.
Toyota launched CVTi, followed by honda and almost everyone else.
so now everything is CVT.
but im happy that new Honda Accord is 10 speed AT.
i think its a vicious circle.
